Looking at the frequency response that bass is dropping fast and hard for a planar, no sub bass at all.

I will agree that the bass is unusually mounded for a planar but I will take present mid bass over flat, non-existent bass (like the original HE-400). That's me, though. Also, remember, the graph they listed is a little deceiving since it goes all the way down to 10hz. Not only do humans not hear that low, but music is VERY rarely mixed below 30hz. Also, the thread on Super Best Audio Friends shows the bass not dropping off as much.
