Once again, this December 18th shipping date is killing sales.

2500 units limit and more than halfway there on the first day of 27 days. It's selling pretty well if you ask me lol. This is also a brand new product so units definitely aren't made yet and they probably have to wait on parts like with the HD 6xx drop.

If these shipped in a month they would of sold out in under an hour. The original HD6XX drop of 5000 unites sold out in 20min because they didn't have a crazy shipping date.

The originals took 3 months to ship if I'm not mistaken. I could be as I wasn't here for it. I remember reading 3 months somewhere tho. That's 2 months less than the wait for these. These will in no doubt sell out. It doesn't matter to massdrop or hifiman if it's in an hour or in 27 days. Just my opinion.

Doesn't help Hifiman put the 400i's on sale again during this drop I guess. $80 trade for 5 months waiting.

You are mistaken. The original drop went live the morning of November 9th and they all shipped before Christmas.

So as you can see this 5 month shipping time is killing sales.

No, I still disagree with that. 20 minutes for the 5000 units of the original hd 6xx is definitely an impressive feat but it was also a never before seen deal on a pair of headphones that are already justified even at the full msrp. Of course everyone would jump at that. The second run of the hd 6xx was limited to 11000 units. Everyone, at least those who actually read, knew about the 5 month wait period. That batch sold all units before the drop end date. I was a part of that batch. They then extended it by another 10000 units. It went a lot slower but by now a total of 16000 units had already been sold. There were people who either already had it, people who didn't want it for one reason or another, people put off by the shipping date, and people without access to the drop due to shipping restrictions. Yet by the end of the drop, it still reached near max units. It was a little over 20000. Only 1000 less than the max units. You can say that is a loss in sales. I say that is 20000 new sales of items that aren't even on the shelves yet so they can limit production to the exact amount of purchases. Now this isn't selling anywhere near the sales of the original hd 6xx. Hell, I was originally gonna join as soon as it went live to get one of the below 550 serial numbers and do research on it later and cancel if I didn't like what I found out but then remembered that the drop is finalized is it reaches max and I expected that to happen within hours. It didn't. However it's slowly approaching 2500 units. There are 26 days left to the drop. I am very sure it will reach the full 2500 units. It might already have if 20000 users of the massdrop audiophile community haven't already bought the hd 6xx which will come in around the same time, one of my main reason for staying away from this even tho I'd love to try out planar magnetic cans. As I said previously, if it reaches the 2500 units, it doesn't matter whether within a second or with a month, they made 2500 new sales, which is not a loss.
