I've received mine 3 days ago and damn , they sound mesmerizing. They left on me much better out of the box impression then Senn HDXX. Vast soundstage extreme separation and uber clarity coupled with exceptional built quality and they just took a top spot on my shelf. Awesome job by HiFiMan and Massdrop. Almost forgot the bass, you can get it to reverberate brain inside your scalp if you wish - it can go that deep. Now I see what the fuss with planar magnetic headphones is all about.

And I'm surprised that they sell for under $200. Pair them with the right source, and they're absolutely divine.

SoundzMaybe there is something wrong with mine. I keep wondering this. Mine sound pretty average.
Also, I should try them with a tube amp.

Agreed... you have to throw power at them like you'd provide a 300 ohm can.

jonathanzhanI run them straight out of Cowon PM2, FiiO X5III and Cayin I5 and they sound terrific with all of them. Next stage I'll couple FiiO A5 and F12 Mount Blanc with my players to try to hear the difference if any.
