I have received my Hifiman 4xx close to one week back. Unfortunately there is so sound coming out from the left channel. Confirm with swapping channels using the cable. Has report back to Massdrop since.
It is the first time I bought new cans with faulty channel. Very disappointing and I just wonder is there is quality check performed at all.
My opinion is that if Massdrop wants to do a good job, and Hifiman wants to save their reputation, it is best for them to do their product quality control properly.
I had the very same issue! Left side dead. Swapped cable, still not working. Massdrop support e-mailed me back quickly telling me to contact HiFiMAN. They e-mailed back a day later with RMA information on how to send them back. Just sucks that I have to pay shipping for faulty product. This is all around disappointing.
I am so disappointed to have the same problem as everyone else here. My channel works, but bumping the wire causes it to drop out. Trying another cable does not fix the issue. They sound fantastic, but this is such poor quality control.
Couldn't agree more. Add me to the list of people who received a faulty left driver. If I fidget around with the driver it will sometimes work, but I would rather not worry if my audio quality is off due to this. Just got them today.
After sending my faulty headphones end of Dec last year, I received a replacement set. Very fortunately, this set turns out working fine.
Hence the additional cost is the freight cost for shipping the faulty set to Japan.
