After reading all these horror stories about QC issues with HFM headphones, I canceled my $350 HE-560 order from Adorama. I'm curious to hear what planars are all about, but it's too risky. Nothing against HFM, but so far it seems like a horrible company.
One in a thousand people get issues. It's just these issues that get emphasized way out of proportion. You get a 2 year warranty anyway, so don't worry.
I have to agree. I was so looking forward to getting my pair, but when they arrived, they looked used with scuff marks and "finger print" looking smudges (maybe a careless glue job?). The stitching in the pads was grossly uneven (maybe that's common). I had read the quality control complaints and saw some pictures, too, but the price was so good, I thought I'd give them a shot. I got the impression that HFM unloaded a bunch of substandard materials on this model.
Fortunately, Massdrop stood behind their warranty and I returned them for a full refund.
I'm in the Uk so for me it would be 160pounds...if you put it that way, I think I'll get the he400i when they are 180pounds and be happy with that rly. Thanks for sharing!
HE400i are $179 after the $70 off coupon on BuyDig. I just got beyerdynamic T90s from them last week for $299 and they are legit!
thanks for sharing, but can't find a coupon, how do I use it?
ah, nvm..even with the coupon is too expensive with shipping and taxes to UK, thanks anyway!
You're welcome. Sorry you can't get them!
