Got mine last december and now almost 2 months in, pairing it with a fiio q1 mk2(as a dac/amp) on my desktop is pure bliss.
The only issue I have is these cans can be sibilant at certain tracks and I'm still training my ears to get used to this bass response as I was used to more boomy bass before. Overall, great headphones.
That's 100% my experience also. Got them in December, using them paired with a Q1mk2 and they sound great (by the way I'm using the balanced output on my mk2, this way you have relatively enough power for them to shine, the 3.5mm output is crap). I experience the sibilance as well but I don't blame all of it on the headphones because it is noticeable for me the most on bad quality or poorly mastered tracks so maybe that has an impact also but yes, they tend to be a little sibilant depending on the recording. My only curiosity is if the bass, which I already like with this setup, will benefit even more from a powerful amp or it's a waste of money. What can I say, they are indeed great headphones, especially considering the price.
If they are anything like the 400i they will benefit from an Amp. I picked up a Topping NX4 after I bought my 400i and it was a huge improvement.
They def need more power. Add a proper amp and these things hit rather hard for being open-back cans. They tend to get rather power hungry when listening at higher volume levels.
