Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

Scheduling sequence planned: 1. Listening directly via Galaxy note 8. 2. Listening directly from Chord mojo. 3. Listening directly from the DV 336se.
I have had my DV since Saturday and love what it has done for my 6xx.
General Set up: 1. Music source is my Samsung Galaxy Note 8. 2. Arcam Bluetooh receiver connected to the Darkvoice 336SE and the SMSL SAPII via RCA connections using a two way splitter between the two amplifiers.
4XX Directly into the Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Sound Quality is okay and clear, however you need more volume to hear and benefit from the 4XX true hearing experience.
4XX Directly into the Chord Mojo via Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Sound Quality is superb. The 4XX comes alive with the clarity, openess and sound imaging. You can hear every word and instruments played. The hi's is precise the mids and lows is enough to say YES, YES...
4XX Directly into the Darkvoice 336SE via Samung Galaxy Note 8: Well the 4XX Planar does not work well on vacuum tube amplifiers. The sound was very low, it was like there was not enough power to push the 4XX and I know the DV336SE has power. (The Sennheiser HD 600 range via DV336SE is awesome).
4XX Directly into the SMSL SAPII via the Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Very similar listening experience as the Chord Mojo, however the volume peaks out at the top end (needs a little more power). Where the Mojo keeps on going before distorion takes place. But for the price the SMSL is a sure bet. ( The Chord Mojo is a bit too pricey).
Conclusion so far: Because the 4XX is designed for mobile use and the Chord Mojo is portable, I am currently using this type of setup. However if you are at home in a fixed setup then the 4XX via the SMSL SAPII is perfectly adquate to hear the 4XX true experience.
Enjoy!!
DV and 6xx are a winner.
While I like the X1S as a DAC, it may not be the ideal amp for my desktop. I'll see how it performs with the 4xx before I make a move. My ideal is to use my DV and 6xx as my living room setup and the 4xx and a good DAC/Amp as my desk setup.
