You do realize that you're essentially complaining about Massdrop for a USPS problem, which they have absolutely no influence over once it ships, right? If you want to intitiate a mail search request or just ask for additional info, your attention (and ire) should be directed to the USPS.
Trust me, I know all too well how much it sucks to be dealing with a USPS bumble and don't take this to be an attack on you at all, I just wanted to mention you're focusing your attention at the wrong entity. I hope USPS can give you some answers/your headphones arrive soon. USPS has around a 99.9% accuracy rate, but they process several million unique mailpieces through the mailstream every day, so that still amounts tens of thousands misrouted, damaged, destroyed, or simply lost packages a day.
Oh and if you're looking at "pre-shipment USPS is awaiting item" that's a ploy to reduce customer service contacts asking about package updates, they show that by default until they run a mailpieces through a sort machine that manages to get a tracking scan for the first time, they don't scan it when they pick it up, especially for large-volumr shippers.

If you're wondering what I'm on about talking about USPS, both the Shipping service and tracking number indicate initial transit is via USPS, FedEx takes over later.

No worries, I have 5 businesses. I'm very familiar w/ shipping & tracking as well as SmartPost w/ FedEx. We use all carriers, USPS, FedEx, DHL, UPS, as well as private local and regional carriers etc... I received an apology directly from MD, that mine was late in shipping out. They created the label but didn't get it out UNTIL 2-3 Business DAYS later. Mine wasn't the only one. The label was created 2 days it never was picked up, then, another 2 days before it said it shipped ( but didn't ship/ so almost 5 business days before it ever left their shipping dock) It is what it is... Now the good news :-) I finally got them last evening. Cheers ! :-) The Moral of the story? I've never waited 2.5 MONTHS for an item-even if one of our businesses get it out of China, Germany, UK, Russia, etc... I totally get it and MD was kind enough 3 times to apologise for the many items with delays... It's all good :-)

Oh wow I seriously just don't even want to believe that Massdrop whiffed the delivery that badly and with total lack of contact! My apologies if my statements felt patronizing, I know now that you're well aware of how things work, but I'm sure given your familiarity with shippers ng you know how often retailers are blamed for the mistakes of the courier. I honestly appreciate you updating and I'm very glad to hear you've at the least finally have an idea where your headphones are. I hate to say it but this will go into consideration with my next major Massdrop purchase. Thank you again for helpinging me be informed. Cheers, hope they arrive skon
