Can someone please tell me what are these cable called? im trying to find a replacement for it. I realise the cable it included isnt as good. so any info would be greatly appreaciated
The cable connects to the cups with 2.5mm jacks. There's nothing wrong with the cable, unless you want balanced.
I agree, the cable is fine. I even converted my stock cable to balanced with a mini XLR so I could swap out for different plugs. Soldering the lacquer insulated cables is interesting though, not for the faint of heart. I could probably mod cables (when I’m not goofing off at the race track) with the 3 XLRs and a balanced section of Mogami starquad cable for about $35 plus shipping. hsdrggr at the google email address.
Pic has the stock single end on it now, but I have 3 other ends set up. 2.5 TRRS, 3.5 TRRS, and 6.3 TRS angled.
Wow nice job! I live in the uk, or I would take you up on the offer. A balanced amp is my next purchase (using Little Bear atm).
Yeah, not sure how much postage would be shipping to Florida, USA and back. I guess I could built a complete balanced cable set with the mini xlr diconnects and send to you. $80 + shipping.
To bad they charge so much tax. Maybe could send as gift. I’m retired. Audio is just a hobby. No actual business name. I don’t think many places are using the mini/tiny xlr connectors. The regular size xlr connectors are just so big. They tiny xlr‘s are much harder to solder and isolate wires so I understand why most places don’t deal with them, but they are so much more portable.
I just pay 8$ more for spain and it's 12 for France, where do you live ?
I live in the USA (Florida). Friedegg lives in the UK and he was commenting on the import duty and taxes he has been paying lately when purchasing from USA and is trying to purchase mostly from Europe now because he doesn’t get charged as much. He was interested in making his Hifiman headphones with balanced input like I did with my stock cable.
Oh okay thank you, yes I guess that it's hard for Uk now that they are not in Europe any more..
Lol they didn't just get up and leave...
We don't officially leave the EU until march 2019, so we are still subject to their laws up to that point (I voted remain btw). There has always been various tax to pay when importing from the US to UK, it's just that sometimes you get away with it and sometimes you don't.
God only knows what’s going to happen. We have this wackadoodle guy named Trump running things in the USA. He’s wanting to tax the hell out of other country’s Imports. It‘s just going to be reciprocated and many manufacturers in the USA are going to suffer too. Look at Harley Davidson already. It’s going to be a real shit-storm. It Sucks.
