First set of planar magnetics. Coming from a pair of AKG K702's, these have what the K702's lack, detail all the way down to the sub bass. Had to EQ my K702's up just to hear a hint of the sub bass, now I don't need any EQ. I must say, it's really eye(ear?)-opening, listening to these. I'm probably never gonna own a pair of dynamics ever again. Comfort-wise, the AKG system was never really comfortable for me, I cant go 15 minutes without readjusting them, not so with these, comfort isn't perfect, but way better compared to the AKG K702's. I can go past the hour mark without readjusting these. Also, I was worried about build problems, but my pair has none. In fact, I'm quite amazed at how the build feels, at this price point Highly recommended!

UPDATE Got new pads for them. Much more comfortable to wear now, and the sound has decongested, with better instrument separation, dynamics, and soundstage. The default pads are ok, but it seems to me that Hifiman made them easily replaceable, as I didn't need any tools to take the plastic mounting rings from them. I enjoy them so much more now. The pads I got for them, are Brainwavz angled memory foam pleather pads. Velour makes my skin itch, so the upgrade makes a huge difference, for me. Get round pads if you dont wan't to wrestle with it so much.
