I received my first planar magnetic headphones and to be honest I'm quite satisfied. As for now best sounding hedphones I own. I'm powering HE 4xx from my LG V20 and to drive these you'll need to use trick to switch your internal LG V20 DAC AMP to higher output power (for me 25% - is sufficent LG V20 shows HE 4xx as "External audio device ...").
I'm seriously concerned about build quality. After 2 day usage one of covering cups went off (picture attached). Those screws and glue are far from high end quality.
Wait till the screws keep popping from the driver housing :)
But these do sound really good, hence why I now have a habit of tightening screws every weekend, and checking them caps since mine popped out too... including the scratches on the opposite end to try and get the hit glue melt to stick better.
FYI, try removing the outer grille and remove the black textile filter/cover for an huge increase in soundstage. The mods sre described somewhere on this thread.
