Hi all, I've just received my HE4XX and in the process of burning it in. I've been looking around this discussion on headphone cord upgrade and so far I've seen discussion about your cable being 3.5mm to 2.5mm stereo at the headphone end. My cable is 3.5mm at the headphone end. Is this something new? Am looking for balanced cable.
That is different to mine for sure, I just double checked and my cable is defo 3.5mm to 2.5mm. The 2.5mm has black pole dividers, whereas the 3.5mm has green pole dividers like yours.
Thanks for the reply, FE. I guess they've changed the can end to 3.5mm recently then. Well, no biggie. Just wanted to know. Actually, I prefer a 3.5mm jack as I think they offer more robust connection. Cheers and have a good day!
Yes, it appears that the new batch is 3.5mm to 3.5mm as mine arrived that way today. Kind of a bummer as I had several other cables that were 2.5mm to 3.5mm that I was planning on trying. I am not a huge fan of the stock cable as it is short and doesn't seem to want to straighten out. Looks like fun times ahead to find another replacement cable.
