Idk if it's just my unit but wow these headphones are sibilant. The hd 6xx were nice but with these, every time there's any type of treble in a song it makes me wince at how sibilant and clippy it is. EDIT: I've now tried them on a topping a30 and they're not sibilant anymore. May contact schiit about their magni 3 and what's going on with it.

KTechI find they're pretty sibilant as well but my source isn't extremely competent (fiio e7/e9)... bass is present but a bit anemic, I haven't actually found anything these are really great for.
10/18/18 - opinion has changed after upgrading to a schiit stack, burn-in and EQ to harman target curve.

xformulaxThey are pretty good for stringed instruments especially cello and piano but I can agree with the above statement. I've heard the massdrop liquid carbon dac/amp is supposed to be more bassy and that tubes can reduce sibilance and detail so I may give one of those two a shot. But for modern songs I totally agree with you.

KTechHow does the A30 drive the HE4XX? Looking to get that amp instead of the Schitt Magni 3.

mannukiddoPretty well. Some songs require high gain but for the most part I leave it at 9db around half volume. Definitely less sibilant than the magni 3.
