Massdrop x HiFiMAN RE-00

Will this return? I’d buy 5

_HATED_ the SQ (unfair comparison for the time, as it was stacking up against the Victor JVC HP-FX500 (my all-time favorite)(which was light years ahead in design, technology, materials, and the exotic wood-dome driver diaphragm). THAT said, the HP-FX500 sound "RIGHT" to me with only the (now defunct, and unfindable) Phonak Audeo Silicone Ear tips (Medium for me) (try em if you can track them down), AND the HiFiMAN RE series Bi-Flange Tips. I prefer Clear, but I believe they are (hopefully still) available in black as well. The RE Bi-Flange Tips also sound good on the Tin HiFi T2+ (thought the Victor JVC Spiral Dots sound a bit better)(wish THOSE were available in CLEAR). Thanks for reading. Please stay Safe & Healthy!

I give it 4 out of 5 stars. The cable crinks and the build is worrisome, but the sound is excellent. Those who say it has no bass are deaf or just bass heads. There’s plenty of impactful and resolving bass with a nice tweak of bass boost or EQ. They EQ well. Nice extended treble with very accurate timbre. The mids? Very lush. Just a really musical and balanced attack. Very similar to the old RE-ZERO. I enjoy these and look forward to another 00 drop in the future. [image]
