So what does hot-swappable actually mean? If i buy some zealios switches, all I have to do is get a pair of pliers and yank each switch out to replace it?

The K-Type will come with a switch puller. So yes, if you buy some Zealios, you can put them in.

Are the LED's on each switch permanently built in, or do those have to be swapped with the switch as well?

The LEDs are SMD mounted (machine placed on the PCB).

Does it support PCB mounted switches? Or plate mounted only?

Plate mount only. You can always clip the little nubs off the PCB-mount ones though.

Plate mount only, but if you cut/file off the pegs of the PCB mounted switches they will fit just fine.
