Finally caught the drop this time around. However, after reading about the IP dispute, the contract terms, and what is clearly MassDrop's attempt to grow its brand by screwing over developers/designers, MassDrop can go to hell. Absolutely no point in buying into this if there will be no support. This was to be my first purchase. MassDrop never getting any of my cash after this dick move. Perhaps they will be so kind as to delete my account -- just don't claim ownership over my username, k?
MD and I:C are both offering customer support for the K-Type, so I'm not sure what you mean by "Absolutely no point in buying into this if there will be no support"... I've gotten plenty help from I:C with the board and I've seen MD helping out with questions here and there as well.
Let's see, I:C signed a contract with Massdrop in exchange for funding the tooling and production of their switches, then attempted to sell products via a kickstarter campaign, which was against the terms of the contract they were part of. Massdrop said no bueno, then instead of attempting to resolve the issue amicably behind the scenes I:C took to public forums to air their dirty laundry. After that Massdrop responded to their statements, and I:C decided to end their partnership out of spite. Am I missing anything?
Oh well, I'm just happy to have had another chance at picking up one of these awesome boards.
The quality is worth it... minus the somewhat audibly squeaky stabs on my left shift key :P
Have you tried lubing them or anything?
I have not--now that you've given me the idea I may do so. Though I have headphones on most the of the time so it's not too much of a concern.
I've found that Cherry stabs in general are super loud (to me at least) unless they're lubed. I just use the silicon grease from WASD on my boards and have had grest success with it, although I still prefer Costar stabs.
challenge accepted, apparently
I can't help but wonder if this was a be careful what you ask for moment for the OP. People say Massdrop's customer service doesn't listen bah.
I'm going to assume he wrote in and requested to have it deleted.
