I am typing this comment from the pictured K-Type here. Man, these Halo True switches are everything that I ever wanted in a tactile switch! Beats the pants off of MX Clears & is a serious contender against Zealios. Just as the design intention states, I have experienced minimal issues with bottoming out. Really awesome!
Quite possibly these switches are even better suited to Zealencio silencing clips than even Zealios are. I thought the Zealencios reduced the switch travel too much because the millimeter difference caused me to bottom-out too frequently for my taste. Because these True switches have a higher bump, there's a chance they may not have the same problem as Zealios have with those silencing clips.
The keycaps on this board are also impressive. At first I assumed these would be the same OEM PBT/POM keycaps that came with round 1 of the XMIT Hall Effect keyboard - but they're not the same, they are better! The keycaps have a noticable course texture which does a good job gripping your fingers as you type.
Of all the RGB keyboards I have had on my desk, this one is the most impressive looking.
I just purchased this keyboard so that I could try out the switches. My future plans now include acquiring these switches for some custom ortholinear board. Now that I have tried them out on the K-Type and am truly satisfied with the Halo True typing experience, I have put up the board for a discounted price on eBay. ;)
Hands down best TKL to ever sit on my desk.

equaluniqueWhy don't you keep the switches and sell the board?

BecauseRacecarI don't really need the switches from this board. Instead, I pre-ordered the Hako True & Clear from the Kono store. They're supposedly the same feel, but with the added box design. Each order is for a 120-pack, which is enough for a few Atreus', a couple Plancks, or an ErgoDox. Should have them sometime in February.
Also if someone else can try them and hopefully enjoy them, then that would be a good thing. The more people who become fans of the True switches, the more likely we'll see them pop up in other products.

equaluniqueThat makes sense. I am completely in love with the True's, and the keyboard in general, I guess. It takes some work making it mine, colors and such, but I am also loving the process.

BecauseRacecarGlad to hear it. It's a damn fine keyboard. Last night ErgoDox-EZ announced a switch-swappable version available for pre-order. I would sure like to get these switches on it!

BecauseRacecarTruth be told, I do prefer the Atreus layout (in Dvorak) versus ErgoDox. Thumb use feels much more natrual on the Atreus. Feels pretty darn comfortable with some backwards 1U SA R1 keycaps. The redeeming feature of the ErgoDox is that it's split. Especially considering that the ErgoDox-EZ will soon support switch swapping, there's definitley a place for each on one of my desks.
Here's a link to the ErgoDox-EZ announcement for their Change-It-Yourself (CIY) Jan 2018 pre-order: https://ergodox-ez.com/pages/change-it-yourself

equaluniqueThis is super cool to hear. I can't use a split keyboard because I taught myself to type one handed from the time I first touched a computer, so it's very ingrained--but any new innovation is exciting for the community, in this case because it's setting a precedent for more hot swappable keyboards. I LOVE the Halo Clears but I wanted to try box switches so now I have some BOX Heavy light blues coming in.

equaluniqueJust won your auction! I'm looking forward to trying out the Halo True switches too. Are you going to use Trues on an XD75 build?

ChekonjakAwesome! Thank you very much. I will try to get it shipped this weekend.
I will be putting Clears on a Winkeyless.Kr B.87.
As for the Trues, I'm waiting to see which one it will be. Either XD75, Atreus, or possibly an ErgoDox. :)

equaluniqueTerrific thanks! Can't wait until the 16th.
EDIT: Just got it! If anyone has questions I'm more than happy to answer. So far they feel like linear switches but a lot heavier. Definitely harder to type on than the MX Blues I'm used to, but a lot nicer for games and I think I'll get used to them soon enough.
