While I agree with some of the criticisms mentioned by @mcnuggies—the strap is a little awkward, and overpriced if you buy it with the folio—but overall I'm really happy with this purchase because the minimalist/utilitarian aesthetic really appeals to me and the craftsmanship is top notch. The modularity of the system is a strong point. I ordered the small and medium pockets (as well as the add-on strap which is $10 and is identical to the $20 one sold with the folio) and I like that they can lie flat when empty and expand when full. Another reviewer commented on the ergonomics of the folio, and complained that his tablet would fall out when opening it. The inside has a slip pocket for a laptop/tablet and a zipper pocket for documents or other flat items. You just need to keep the inside zipper closed and remember to lift the front flap when opening. This way the tablet/laptop pocket stays upright. Another reviewer mentioned that it can be a hassle to have to flip open the bag when quick access to the laptop is needed. The designer cleverly made this bag so that it can be used "inside out", in other words, there is a carry handle on the inside (as well the outside). You can still close the bag inside out, and even attach the shoulder strap (by unhooking the claps and using the clips to attach it to the molle webbing. In fact, although I use mine with the laptop pocket facing inwards, I attach the shoulder strap in this way, making it much more comfortable to carry than the way the strap is pictured. Kudos to the Intern for this innovative and slick ass line of products. I'm now looking for an excuse to order some of the pouches, which I want but don't need.

idealcheeseCan I see a photo of how you attach the strap with this folio inside-out, and what it looks like when you wear it inside-out? Also, how do you use the fasteners when it's inside-out?

Sleekness in minimalist package!
I must admit that this was a trial purchase with expectations of a return nearly upon receipt, BUT to a pleasant surprise, the bag is actually sleek and useful. I work in an office area usually where I move about with my laptop quite a bit. Whether I'm attending meetings, assisting others at their location, or working on projects that require focus that can not be obtained at my desk, I find myself on the move ALOT. This often involves lugging a hefty company-issued bag along with me that contains far more than I require. Lugging it around not only becomes a hassle rather quickly, but also trying to store the bag at my various destinations also presents an annoyance. I can say that this 'folio has presented an unexpected answer to these issues while looking cool. I haven't even been able to indulge in the addition of pockets, which will add to the coolness and allow me to have set kits that I can quickly attach or detach when I require specific items or materials for various agendas. All in all, this is a keeper. Only one issue to reiterate and that is laptops bigger than Macbook pros will experience issues fitting into the bag and should probably be avoided. Outside of this, I'd highly recommend this purchase.

Very bloody impressed.
Ordered June 23rd, delivered July 18th to New Zealand. Shipping is incredible from US to NZ during Covid. Product is exactly as advertised, build quality is great. Fits my 15" Macbook Pro Retina like a glove, zipped pocket fits my notebook and pen with room to add more flat/small items. Still waiting for Medium Carry packet but very excited.

Inadequate protection for laptops
I liked the Laptop Folio at first, but as mentioned in an another review the optional strap is really awkward. I put up with it for a few weeks, but after accidentally picking up the folio without the lower hooks attached my $4,200 2018 MacBook Pro fell to the ground ($900 to fix), so now I'm done with it. I realize it's ultimately my fault for not fully closing it, but if the shoulder strap wasn't so poorly attached the bag would have stayed upright and nothing could have fallen out.

Roger_DIt’s a $50 slim folio., would you say not worth the $50? Not a lot of other choices for the money. Thinking of buying, I have the same MBP.

Invest your $70 elsewhere. This is a rather odd bit of kit. When I first received it I was unsure which part was the "outside" and which the "inside" - I suppose it doesn't really matter. Except there's this rather large pocket without a closure. I was surprised - as the description in the details talks about "zippers", yet there is only one closable compartment. When I discovered the open compartment I decided that needed to be the inside as I didn't want items easily removable by passerby or falling out when I inverted the bag. The latter hope was futile as things fall out of that pocket constantly. It really could use a zipper or a bit of velcro to stop things falling out. I initially put my tablet in there, but after the third time it fell out when opening and closing the bag to access the zippered pocket - the tablet now goes in the zippered pocket. The only thing the open pocket is good for is storing large items that you are not concerned may fall out when you flip open the bag at the coffee shop. So...a paper notebook or folders... Don't think you can get away with using it to store cables, adapters or power supplies they all fall out. The clasps on the bottom to "close" the bags are a bit awkward to use as they require suitable dexterity to slide part of the molle webbing into a small slot. As an arthritis sufferer this is more difficult than necessary, and doesn't feel very secure to boot. I would have much preferred a standard snap buckle, like the one used on the carry strap. After trying to use this bag for a bit I can't recommend it for anything. I have laptop sleeves that offer better protection/accessory carrying and several slim (and inexpensive) EDC slings that provide closed pockets with both molle and hook/loop expandability.

Cons:
  • Foamed/Laptop sleeve is too thin. Not good impact protection.
  • Not really ergonomic Strap sits awkwardly & uncomfortably on back due to laptop weight.
  • $20 extra strap for a strap. Save your money and buy your own custom molle strap OR spend extra $10 for strap from series 1 drop (could also get pouches for this pack's system)
Pros:
  • Looks Great. Goes well with the series 1 pouches & packets (as shown in photos)
  • Sturdy but lightweight material
  • Good for quick light usage. Urban biking / heavier uses not advised.
3/5 but bumping it down to 2 stars because packaging was poorly done. I ordered 3 pouches and only received 2. My laptop bag looked shoved into the box, leaving a permanent bend in the foam material.

It kinda sucks. too small for my laptop and too many loops and catches etc. I've thrown it out. I can't think of a use for it.

mikeb0next time try something more sustainable than throwing something away such as returning /donating. Also measure your laptop before buying so you didn’t need to deal with this in the first place.

Well constructed but too small for any laptops that aren't a newer slim Apple.
For something that is a part of a modular line of storage and transport, there is no versatility of fit for laptops. Only people who buy Apple products can have nice techwear products to hold their laptops, or a tablet I guess. Now I have to really try and find a regular use for this product. Putting a few books in it just seems like a waste. I already have a waterproof backpack, but I was happy to have something just for my laptop to use for daily commute. I guess it's ok though. I honestly would feel paranoid about the protection of my laptop with daily use due to the minimal padding. Holding any bag like it's always full of fragile eggs is not the most fun either. The pouches I got in a separate order are great and I feel that the strap works really well with them. Just make any future folios a little bigger and a little more padded.
