These are powered speakers, no need for a dac/amp
Edit: user below explained it nicely
"You should not use the DAC/ Amp combo. To the best of my knowledge, you should not use an amp with these speakers because they have a built in amp already. Using the 2 amps can produce an unwanted hissing noise. You would need an unpowered DAC to go full audiophile, but using a phone/ computer jack could work well enough until you get an unamplified DAC."
Generally these are pared with items like a Mackie Big Knob Studio, or a Peavy USB-P. These are powered reference monitors not HiFi speakers, and even an unpowered HiFi oriented DAC has filtering of some kind, be it roll off or something else to enhance the sound. If you're using these as monitors as they're designed you want a neutral DAC that does no processing at all beyond the conversion from 0's and 1's to analog signals.
