My pair shipped on the 5th (supposedly) and FedEx still says the tracking number is invalid. What gives?
Same here, but it was very late on the 5th (Friday night), And shipped really just means label was printed ( as the case everywhere).
I thoug FedEx worked on Saturday so not sure whey they where picked up yesterday, but I assume they should start moving tomorrow (Monday).
After Monday is when I'll consider pestering them about it.
Gotcha, just curious if anyone else's had moved. Guess we'll see
I'm in the same situation. Massdrop said the speakers shipped on the 5th but my Fedex tracking info still show no information/invalid.
Yeah, 9:55pm on the 8th and still nothing. Maybe is shipped out in waves. BUT still that whole " This item is in stock and will ship in 2–3 business days ", out has proven to be a pile of smoking horse manure.
I've tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but now I'm starting to get pissed.
Yeah, I ordered on Jan 3rd got the tracking info on the 5th, so perhaps they think that fits what they said even though, at best, all they did was make a shipping label.
I also don't understand how they can advertise that they will ship the speakers by tomorrow if you order within x hours (the message below to "Join drop" button) when they can't even send out past order. I guess making label == shipping to Massdrop.
This was my first order with this site and I've been pretty disappointed so far.
I joined the Drop Dec 28th. Did't get the tracking number until the 5th of January and it is now the 8th of January and still FedEx reports "tracking number could not be found".
That whole, "This item is in stock and will ship in 2–3 business days". seems TOTALLY meaningless.
I was being patient, until today. Contacting customer service tonight and expressing my disappointment. if nothing happens tomorrow I'll contact them again tomorrow night and express my anger. Will continue to do so until item is ACTUALLY in transit.
With any luck it did get picked up today and FedEx just hasn't updated the system yet. Still no where near their claimed 2 - 3 days shipping. ;(
Finally it just showed up on FedEx system. Days at was picked up at 5pm today. So that's good.
It's still 11 day not the claimed 2 -3 days.
I still have a dead tracking number :/
My tracking has also finally updated. Says it was picked up today at 12:00 am (lol). It is passed the promised shipping window, but I'm glad it's finally in transit. I've learned to be weary of Massdrop's ship date though so now I'll have to factor when deciding to join a drop.
It won't be long before we are spending more time listening to these than complaining. ;)
Mine arrived today. I was more of a headphone guy so don't have much to compare them to, but they sound pretty good and are defiantly an upgrade to my M-Audio AV40s (also much larger). Oh and that straight out of my on-board audio. Once I get the proper cables I'll connect them to my high quality external DAC (Audio-GD NFB-11).
Now I'm going to want some more "good speakers". Hopefully I wont collect as many speakers as I have headphone, LOL!
I received mine yesterday but sadly I have a buzzing sound in my speakers using the included wire to my preamp (MIcca Origen G2). I guess I will have to get a balanced dac/preamp. Somewhat fortunately, most of the buzzing is heard with the volume knob on the speakers above 4 so I have them set lower and can get some decent volume out of them but I'm limited of course. From my short listening though, I find the imaging on these speakers pretty great so far coming from Swan M10. I have headphones as well (Monoprice M1060) but I always feel like headphones have this "in my head" sound that annoy me.
Mine are connected to my PC and I have some buzzin/static noise too, but fairly minor. I have to be real close to hear it over my ambient room noise (fan, computer).
I originally turned it down to 5 but yesterdays windows update seems to have lowered my PC volume levels I've cranked it back up to 8 or 9 and it quiet enough to not bother me over my room noise. I did add a short 3.5mm extension that seems to have helped a bit over plugging the speakers srtaight into my monitor (monitor get audio via HDMI and has a 3.5mm out).
I did plug it into my two Shangling DAPs (M1 and M2s) and could not not really heat any buzzing/static. So I think the source has something to do with it.
When my TRS cables I'm going to connect them to my NFB-11 DAC/AMP via a Mackie Big Knob Passive (w/ two inputs and two outputs). This way I can drive them from my PC via 3.5mm or my NFB-11 via TRS (don't need my NFB-11 running to watch YouTube videos or general computing).
I added a subwoofer to my NFB-11 by slitting the RCA out into two (one to the sub and one to the speakers) so I'm looking forward to being bale to have that option. I tested it and it add a whole other dimension.
I ended up getting a Scarlett Focusrite 2i2 as it has balanced 1/4" TRS outputs and bought two balanced XLR to 1/4" TRS cables from Monoprice (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=4761) and now the buzzing noise is gone, so kudos for that. My only worry with getting the 2i2 was if the headphone amp on the 2i2 would be enough to drive my M1060s (50 ohms) and they are so I'm overall satisfied. I do miss the speakers/headphone toggle on my Origen G2 but the two volume knobs for each device on the 2i2 is a fair compromise.
One surprising thing is the the volume output on the 2i2 seems to be louder than the preamp on the Origen G2. I don't know if that's because of the cable change, but at the same speaker volume where I was maxing the G2 is only about 1 o' clock on the 2i2. So even though I bought the 2i2 so I could raise the volume on the speakers from level 4, I don't need to anymore lol.
