Why do these caps look so texture-y? esp for ABS... I love that PBT texture feel though. If it's gonna be anything like that, I'm down.
The texture is the plastics 'color' or it's been dye sublimated (doubtful) . Looks to me like it's a mix to create a marble/texture effect in appearance, not in physical texture. The keys themselves I assume will be as smooth as any other doubleshot ABS key set.
Are you sure? Usually DSA keysets have more of a grainy feel to em.
I would assume it will have some subtle texture but won't be as gritty as the texture appears. I'm thinking these are just shot into the same molds as everyone elses keys just different colored plastics. Could be wrong though. The texture reminds me of the popular pattern/texture from this same period in the 1980's. Everyone in miami had a counter top or some sort of fountain or maybe pedestal for a aloe plant with this look.
I liked the look of the keyset before the changes :\ I was really interested in getting it as it would be my first DSA set. But now i'm not a fan of it and i never really liked dsa profile. Ah well
People tend to be confused about this. PBT usually has a more gritty feel to it than ABS, but it really depends on the molds. You can make smooth PBT and textured ABS, they're just less common.
