Product Description
Driven to make ultralight backpacking more accessible for everyone, we teamed up with Klymit to create a packable pillow with a great weight-to-performance ratio at an incredible value. Costco has this pillow minus the "extra-light" and the Klymit insulated Pad as a package for 70 bucks S&H included. Amazon has the pad at 65 dollars, which puts the price of the pillow at 5 dollars. Basically I don't think this drop is priced well at $17.75 after shipping in the USA for just a matter of a few ounces. I digress

That is why we are starting an Outdoors Community this week - to pull out the heaviest items from Ultralight, and be able to offer some more traditional camping equipment that never made it here.

ChrisplakI agree. While waiting for this to show up, I just ordered two types of the pillow/seat cushion off Amazon for 13 and 15 bucks each (one has a strap to keep it in place).

If you get this pillow I'd make sure to use a cotton cover of some sort. Sweaty face otherwise at least in my experience.

russell16688I will use a fleece neck gaiter or balaclava sometimes, unless it's cold enough that I would want to wear that item instead.

When can we expect the regular ones to be available again?

Any chance more regular sizes will be added?

Buy with confidence. I hated inflatable pillows; I'm a side-sleeper and couldnt get used to them. Not this one! This is A simple, ingenious design that allows me to sleep comfortably. It also shaved 4 precious ounces from my basic carrying weight, plus added a lot more room in my backpack. It may not seem much, but another 4 ounces off and it means I can spend an additional day in the woods. BUY THIS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

LeoKauaiTotally agree. I just received mine today, and it is seriously impressive. Easily the most comfortable inflatable pillow I have ever tried, and it folds down to literally about the size of a pack of cards. I would recommend this to anyone!

litegalmI'm starting to be not only concerned but a little perplexed as to why it's taking so long. This was my 1st drop. Credit card charged almost 4 weeks ago and have heard nothing. If this is how this works, I'll pay the extra and get off Amazon in 2 days. I use Klymit sleeping pads in my emergency/Go bags and love their products, and just ordered the Klymit Cush pillow/seat cushion for 12.95 (free shipping). So far, not seeing the deal here.

hows the material on the Massdrop version, 20D instead of 30/75D? i just bought one and realised afterwards (reading online) that the fabric is thinner. somebody could tell us on the long term durability please? i bought a NatureHike pillow for 15$ used it 3time and now its leaking air from all over the material. i dont want another cheap product.

Why are people buying these at this price? Theyre regularly only $9.99 on eBay and some other places...and you get them in a few days...

whiteninjazx6rYou asked why people buy them for $15. You don’t think the eBay price of $14 and not shipping outside the US are relevant answers?

I have the smaller one. Its like trying to balance your sleeping head on a bag of potato chips. Its more comfortable than nothing, though...

astampCouldnt disagree more. This just means you have it inflated TOO much. let a lil air out and your head sits perfectly cradled in the middle. Works better than any other brand i've tried.

These are on Amazon for the same price. Why would anyone buy them here??

xWarewolfxI often pay extra to avoid Amazon! That level of centralization is not good for society.

I used this on my last backing trip (22+ miles over 3 days). I did not fully inflate it and found it to work perfectly for sleeping on my back and moderate/decent for side sleeping (in a tent). I really enjoy having some kind of pillow versus clothing and this was a BIG space saver over my previous option (Thermarest compression pillow, medium). I would be lying if i said there wasn't a little trade-off in terms of space/weight-saving versus comfort. I lost a little comfort, but slept well anyways and gained a little weight savings and a LOT of space.

Haven't had any experience with the Nemo, but the price is right for this product and if you are already using an inflatable then you would just be getting use to the void ("x") cut in the middle and the lack of soft covering.
I should have mentioned in my initial review that the temperature dropped enough to the point where i was comfortable sleeping in my knitted cap and that the cap made the surface of the pillow irrelevant. Sleeping bare-skinned (with no cap) might be a little noisy when re-adjusting and/or less comfortable due to the material surface.

designpassionGood to know, I was planning on pulling my buff over this at night to make up for the lack of covering.
The Nemo has memory foam on the sleeping surface and allows you to stuff it for more fill but at 9.2oz, its a bit heavy.

Backpacking wise: why would you use this instead of extra clothes in stuff sack or just wrapped in a "ball"??

tau_neutrinoPersonal preference. It takes almost no room, and at 55 g/1.9 oz for the pillow & sack, it's a lightweight luxury, and much more comfortable than clothes balled up. YMMV.
