I've had my ESP/95X for a few weeks now and couldn't be happier! I tested with REW and MiniDSP Ears rig and compared results with my $4000 Focal Utopias and to my surprise, they actually had lower THD than the Focals! If you are even considering buying a pair of these cans, DON'T EVEN HESITATE! They sound fantastic! Best purchase I have made in years. Extremely happy!!!

Should I sell my dac and get the mini DSP? Does it take the oratory 1990 settings for EQ? Still quite confused 🤷🏻‍♂️ thanks for the help.

I was merely referring to how well they tested with Ears. You don't need Ears unless you plan to tweak EQ or something. Or just to see how they compare with your other gear maybe. I'm not sure what the Oratory is so can't advise you on that one either. Sounds like you already have what you need...what you WANT is another matter. I normally use Sonarworks to to set all my HPs to flat EQ but as it turns out, they don't have a calibration for the ESP/95X or 950s. So I bought the Ears so that I could EQ them myself.

After about 50 hours of burn-in I'm hearing significant graininess and harshness in solo voices, male and female. Does voice get better with more burn-in?

Can someone summarize the discussions on whether it's worth upgrading the amp (energizer) and how to do so?

Just curious if others have an issue with the head band not having any holding power on the left side? It is always sliding down and becoming uneven. Related, does anyone know where to buy a replacement band that might fit these?

I have the Grace SDAC-B and Monoprice THX 887. How would I integrate these into my existing setup? RCA outs on the THX to the energizer?

The RCA outputs on the rear of the 887 are pass-through (line level output) so it would go directly to the energizer, volume being controlled via the energizer levels.

Guys, i am from EU and receive today my pair of them speakers. Im in Bulgaria and and the shipping information was not available till the receiving of the headphones. They arrived after all. I have another problem from the begining. I've read that some ppl tested the crappy power supply and thay measured 12.15 volts DC as output from it. I've measured the same. In the back of the energizer says 9 volts. Now im afraid to put them on. Should i risk it and power them from the power supply that came with the headphones, or should i better find an alternative adapter with the appropriate 9 volts ? I dont want to damage them but i do want to listen them

I didn't want to test my luck and bought another power supply, regulated at 9.08 volts and 3 amps. Just to be sure

BEING MESSED ABOUT BY MASSDROP OVER SHIPPING. They keep giving me wrong shipping dates and vague answers. Unacceptable, incompetence. These are not cheap items. We spend a lot of money.

With some mild EQing, these are truly clean headphones, true to source. Happy I bought them, they are miles above sennheiser hd 600's...love em.

600s are not even in the same league! I recently tested them via MiniDSP Ears / REW against my Focal Utopias and guess which one measured lowest THD? Yup! ESP/94X! I wasn't too surprised as from listening to them, they were just awesome right outa the box. I've been playing around a bit with EQ and they got even better so I broke down and bought MiniDSP Ears...let's do this right! Normally use Sonarworks calibrations but they don't yet have measurements for it yet. NP!
