Great, with caveats.
Ok. I have given this rating 4 stars because I would rate it 3 stars with no EQ and 5 stars with EQ (according to Oratory1990's parametric EQ settings). When I A/B the parametric EQ button the difference in quality is incredible. I also paid $270 in the EU clearance sale. Would I pay $500 + taxes if I were in the US? I don't know. I would have to audition it against other headphones (probably planar) in that price range. But for $270 it was a bargain my bank account could not dodge!
The other problem is that they leave all of my other headphones (58x, X2HR, DT770) in the shade. In addition the quality is almost somewhat overbearing in its intensity. Listening to Pink Floyd's Grantchester meadows I felt a definitive urge to swipe away the bird fluttering around my head! It was there and it was bugging me, lol.
So I think I will only use them periodically as a special treat....in the same way that people at the end of the week kick off their shoes and sit back with a whiskey and relax :-)

prionsI've did the Oratory1990 EQ 2.8 settings, but it sound kinda sibbilant that way. The bass is gr8, but the overall sound is like a bit more S' susceptible. Do you hear the same ?

bloodpigI felt that, i dialled some of the sibilant areas down a few notches, and also keeping the 1000hz range the way it was before eq. It's still a bit more sibilant than the Focal Elex at times but it's also very detailed and airy when the moment calls for it.

bloodpigTo be honest I haven't detected any sibilance so far, and I have just tested some songs which are known to be sibilant and I still couldn't detect anything obvious. However I will be using slightly different EQ settings. I am using the parametric EQ on UAPP, which is limited to 6 filters. Oratory very kindly produced a 6 filter version for me, but I really can't believe it is very different to your settings.

adeadcrabI have only heard sibilance with one track, and that was Stairway to Heaven. It caught me by surprise, and made me wonder if the headphones had broken after just 2 weeks. Thankfully the sibilance has not appeared again.

adeadcrabThat track was from an internet radio show, so I did wonder if the presenter had messed up the compression settings, or something similar. Certainly the rest of the track sounded very good, so it was just Robert Plants vocals, that were affected by the sibilance.

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup
Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

$10 Drop Coupon Email not sent?
Trying to buy some gear off Drop for the first time. I was told I would receive an email with a welcome to drop $10 off promo. I never received that email. Drop was able to send me emails for my login token and email for Password update. But for some reason the $10 off coupon was never sent to me.

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
