Does Massdrop cover Australian GST? I've stopped buying from Massdrop for a good long while now since no one has got any news or updates about it.
KevYeohIf GST is your import tax, import taxes are covered by the importer.

Ashw99What state are you in? I'm in NSW and haven't had to pay any import tax on anything besides a $1250 guitar.

AzaaaIt's got nothing to do with which state you're in. Since 1 July this year the Australian government have been trying to get large overseas retailers, marketplaces and shipping forwarders to charge GST on purchasers under A$1000 (shipments over A$1000 are taxed at the border as they were before).
If you've bought anything under A$1000 shipped from overseas on ebay since then you will have been charged 10% GST by ebay at the time of purchase. This new system is why Amazon US stopped shipping to Australia.
Massdrop aren't doing this, and nothing has changed at the border (items under A$1000 still come in tax/duty free, whether or not the overseas retailer/shipper has charged GST on the shipment) so Massdrop items under A$1000 remain tax free imports.
