Q. What are the difference btw ESP 95X+E90 vs $999 original ESP950+e90?
Thx

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaySince no one else is replying I will give it a try. These are basically the same headphones and energizer as the ESP 950/E90. There are a few changes.
1. The battery pack and headphone/energizer case do not come with the Massdrop version. So the E90 will have to be plugged into ac wall current to work. No portable battery power.
2. The ear pads are changed to foam.
3. Color of headphones will be slightly different and they will be labeled ESP/95X.
4. The bass is supposed to be improved slightly. More even and deeper. This may be just the ear pads or other changes.

BarondlaFirst of all, I really appreciate your kind and quick answers.
Hope you can answer few more :D...
So what is the battery pack? Does it mean that HEADPHONE and AMP themselves are same as ESP950 and E90? Simply I want to know the difference of the machines spec itself.
so.. what changes 50% off out of $1000 price combo...

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayBattery pack allows headphones to be used without a wall socket to plug the E90 energizer into. It makes them portable. Something few people do these days with such a large energizer box and headphones.
The case looks like a camera case. It is fairly large to carry ESP/950, E90 energizer, battery pack, wall wart, and cables.
Specs are the same for the two headphone systems. They are less money because: 1. Battery pack and case are left out. 2. Volume purchase. Koss is selling 360 headphone systems at once. 3. We are paying in advance. 4. Massdrop is developing this as one of their exclusive models. 5. This is how MASS drop works. They combine orders to get max discount from their partners.

JaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayIt was also common to see the whole original package with the other accessories discounted to $600 or $700 a few years ago. Koss MSRPs are much higher than the usual selling price of most of their models. New models and this top of the line model are now selling for much closer to the MSRP than they had for much of the last decade, but it appears that the actual production cost is much closer to something that would typically sell for around this $500 price through a discount online retailer like Amazon or B&H. I was kicking myself a few years ago for not snapping up the original for $500 when I saw it on sale for a couple of weeks at Amazon, but here it is again minus a couple of the rarely used accessories. Just wait another year or two and you'll see it on sale in other places with all of its accessories for $600 or $700 again. Actually, don't wait. This is a better deal than you're likely to see anywhere else, as long as you don't want the cheesy vinyl carrying bag and plastic battery box.
