Just received my set today, it took 3 days to arrive in Sydney Australia, the item was sent express, couldn't have asked for more thanks Massdrop!
reminder to all that the left and right channel has it's own separate volume knob. At first i thought the right channel is broken, after stressing out for a good 15 minutes, realised there are two volume knobs!
also when connecting the ear pieces to the headband there is a plastic button on the inside you need to depress, you will also need to wiggle it a bit for it to lock after you insert the ear piece. it is a bit fiddly and took me a few goes for the lock to engage the earpiece.
Yes, yes... Tell us more!! How does it sound??? First impressions please!
I had a short 2 hr session last night with it, so it is still to early to provide an accurate impression of it. The accuracy and detail of musical instruments and vocals are insanely good, when listening to Bohemian rhapsody, each pressing of the piano keys by Freddie sounds as real as listening to a piano being played in person, you can literally here the strings being struck by the hammer inside the piano. For vocals I could hear him breathing into the mic, the short breaths he takes before he hits those high notes. This is something totally unique and such a realistic reproduction of good recordings. The other headphones I have to compare to are hifiman he-400s, Sennheiser hd-6xx, grado sr80e, AKG m220.
Also I had a quick listen to Metallica's hardwired, which is extremely fast pace with alot of instruments all happening at the same time and the advantages of not needing to use magnets to move a diaphragm really shines through as it sounded incredibly detail with actual instrument seperation which I have never heard on any of my other headphones
Sound quite impressive and I am very envious of you right now.. I can not wait, although, I got in on the second drop so mine aren't expected to ship until April..
