this is my second one from Massdrop , first being HD 6xx. like most people have commented on the build quality, i am not going to elaborate on it too much. yes, it looks a bit less premium, but overall it is not as bad as it is written as. it takes a while to get used it. but the sound is outstanding. especially classical HD music is really good. sounds better than HD 6xx from massdrop. i connected my onkyo DP-X1A to the energizer. i've HD tracks in classical music and also Jazz. they sound amazing. where HD6xx excels is in popular music and bass, and of course portability. Koss is meant for quiet evenings at home, immersing oneself into music. i also connect the energizer to the output of my Martnz DAC1 that is connected to my movie streaming... movies sound so good. it is light weight and doesnt bother much even after hours of listening...the separation of instruments, vocals are really good. i would recommend it for anyone looking for a long term investment...
If the 95x 10 out of 10 how about the 6xx ?
Does it got wider soundstage than 6xx ?
Do you find the 95x is very big improvement over the 6xx in term of sound ?
in my view yes. but slightly on the sharper side. i would have preferred it slightly warmer. so sound source plays a very important role. and other issue is this is not a portable headset like the 6xx. but otherwise it has a wider sound stage. i use 95x for my movies connected to Marantz DaC1 and 6xx for music with my onkyo dp-x1a in balanced mode. hope this helps.
