Really hoping these will be a decent upgrade from the dt880's, whose cable cutting out has forced me to retire them. May even write a review ;)
do you find it better than the dt 880 ?
In a word yes, although I've EQ'd the 95X which I hadn't tried on the 880 or other any headphone for that matter.
so you find it much more better than dt 880 and do you face any problem in their durability ? hissing humming driver failure something like that ?
At the start there is sometimes a noise like tissue paper being wiped over the driver, this is the unit burning in and after ~100 hours I have not had any problems.
There is also a whining noise that I get when I leave the energiser turned on overnight. Turning off the energiser at night seems to eliminate this noise.
these things scare me out .
because for 500 dollar i want something really durable .
can you recommend anything else for the same price tag ?
like emu teak or modhouse argons ?
It has no noise.
Burn in is common for headphones (Focal Elex) but especially so in these huge electrostatic drivers in the 95X.
I recommend you get the 95X. And you have a lifetime warranty, you can replace the unit any time.
I am outside US and in case anything wrong happened to the headphone its gona cost me about 40% of its price to ship it to us and ship it back thats why I was asking you about its durability
I replaced this unit, because I was not turning the energizer off at night, the unit was 100% functional but I thought it was defective.
Drop immediately sent a replacement and paid for return shipping for the 1st unit. No charge.
that's sounds fantastic did you tried the 4xx ? do you find the 95x as a very big improvement over the 4xx ?
I have never tried planar magnetic headphones.
