Oh my, these were definitely worth the wait and the money, of course. I listen to a lot of female vocals and the ESP/95x really makes them shine! They're so lightweight and comfortable, I can wear them for as long as I want without becoming uncomfortable. I know the main critique of the ESP/95x is the lack of bass, but honestly, I listen to my fair share of Hip-Hop and they do just fine with low end, I'm not missing anything. They have a very balanced sound signature, so to say they lack bass is not accurate in my opinion. If you're not a "bass head", but you were holding off on these due to the reported meager amount of it, I'd reconsider that decision. Separation is outstanding, no sibilance or harshness within the high-end, and the imaging is quite good too, but to be honest I was hoping it was going to be a bit better. Eventually, I know I'll get an adapter to use these with a different Energizer/Amp (since that supposedly takes them to another level), but for now they're definitely good enough so there is no rush.
Headphones I have for comparison:
OPPO PM-3 (Planar Magnetic): ESP/95x have equivalent amount of bass, along with greater detail and better imaging, but where they truly shine over them is the "full body" sound, where as the OPPO PM-3 can sound almost thin.
Master & Dynamic MH40: The MH40 boast a truly "fun" listening experience, but they are outperformed by the ESP/95x in every other category.
Mitchell & Johnson GL2: There's no real comparison to be made against the GL2 Electrostatz drivers - ESP/95x are just so much better in every way.
Sennheiser HD 58X: That Sennheiser "veil" becomes abundantly apparent when comparing them to the ESP/95X.
AKG K7XX: No real comparison to the ESP/95X.

Tigerex966So for the Fidelio L1 I can't do one on one comparison as I sold them, wasn't too impressed and actually Philips SPH9500 were my daily drivers, alongside HD 58x before ESP95X. In comparison to Philips SPH9500, their overall sound signature is very similar, but the ESP95x do all of those things significantly better. Example, the SPH9500 can at times have harsh/peaky highs, the ESP95x has none despite a very similar reproduction of highs. Mids and lows are the same respectively, the mids on the ESP95x are its strongest attribute, and the lows have a characteristic to them I can't quite explain, almost like you can actually hear the subtle acoustic qualities (and differences) of those low frequencies. Where the SPH9500 can become muddy or sound too busy, the ESP95x will separate all of that noise so well. The ESP95x do a great job highlighting the flaws of headphones like SPH9500. The imaging is a bit better in the ESP95x, but this was where they were the most similar. Let me say this, if you enjoy the Philips SPH9500 (like use them frequently) the ESP95x are exactly the sound signature you would enjoy (at least I don't see how you wouldn't considering how similar the tuning between the two are). And for gaming, unfortunately idk, I don't game. Hope that helps!

Ringing in PC38X's
I recently got this headset, and wow is it good. My only issue is when certain people talk on discord, I can hear a really high pitched ringing. I fiddled with a bunch of settings, computer audio and discord, and nothing seems to solve the issue. It is primarily if not all in my right ear only. Is there something wrong with my headset, or was that ringing always there I can just hear it cause the headset is THAT good? I haven't had any issues with any other application, though I have yet to test if I can hear the ringing on a different version of discord, say on my xbox instead of my pc. Only other issue I've had is occasional static, but I can't tell if it's from the headset or the show/game/etc.

Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Recommendation for my next headphone set? I have Koss 95x
Hey all, What would you recommend I get next and why? I have Koss ESP-95x electrostatic massdrop headphones. These are my first and only audiophile set. I love them. I think my only real requirements is $500 or less for the headphones and that they have a little more low end. I don’t need thump but these are really light on lows…but the experience is still awesome. Also any recommendations on an amp? I only have my electrostatic thingy. I am using the Topping D50 DAC. thx!!

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?
I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better.
