Extremely detailed - best sounds I've ever heard
Likes: detail, frequency extension, light weight Dislikes: none so far. These have become my new reference. Now I understand the electrostatic magic!

aleph0Do you find it better than any planar or dynamic that you ever tried?

Mohannad13Yes, better by far. They are musical and totally engaging. First listen reminded me of my first time with the Etymotics ER4s - realism, inner detail, recording space, and tonal quality are amazing. I don’t use equalization per se, but I do make use of a response correction curve via a plugin called Morphit. The plugin does’t have the Koss info, so the correction curve I use is for the Stax SR207. The Stax has a very similar frequency response curve. Funny thing with me is that I use the Koss (and Ety’s too) only when I want that musical immersion using the highest definition music I can find. For lively listening, it’s usually the Grados. For detailed closed-back, it’s the AT MH50x. I occasionally use the HE4XX’s, but not much. Also, I’m trying to like the 6xx. They seem a bit less musical (restrained?) but I may just need a more appropriate amp for their load.

aleph0Sidenote: update - tried the 6xx with a BlasterX G5 dac/amp. Opened up the sound significantly. They're maybe still not quite at the musical level of the Koss or Ety's, but then again, maybe they are. At any event, now I will add the 6xx's to my listening set. I will get more time with them on different types of music. It was definitely the lack of sufficient amp to drive the 6xx's (had been using a Dragonfly Red).
