alvintancyI’ve read that the stock cable holds the KSC75 back, and a thicker copper cable can make a noticeable improvement to make it sound more effortless. Are those DIY cable rewiring projects? And how do you like the Sony DAP? I just bought a ZX300A and it’s on its way over from China.
My household has owned 3 of these headphones over the years (for my wife, who puts them somewhere “easy to remember” and then we can’t find them 🤣), and I can attest to them performing well above their price point already even in stock form.
EvshrugWith regards to recabling, as the Koss is a Dynamic driver, i tried with Copper, SPC amd tinned coated copper, SPC sounded the best as copper makes it more warm, bear in mind u need at least 50hrs burn in with different cables, fpr the Sony ZX300, 3.5mm isn't really enough to juice the Koss, with 4.4mm balanced, needed to push the volume to 75% or more. Most of the time i used it with my desktop amp, either the Alo Audio Island, Xduoo TA20 or Cayin IHA6.
alvintancySPC = Silver Plated Copper, right?
I have an all-silver HD 800 cable terminated in 4.4mm from Wireworld, I use it with my Sennheiser HDV 820 amp. I’d like an SPC cable for my HD 650 too, but less expensive than the admittedly extravagant cable I bought for my HD 800. Suggestions?
EvshrugNo specific brands needed, just look through Aliexpress for better quality SPC cables, u'll be spoilt for choices.
Also the fun part of modding is to try different cables to find something to ur taste, something in the price range of $20-$30 would suffice.
alvintancyhaha, amazing, most the time when you hear some one did a balanced mod on their headphones you expect $500+ headphones, pretty impressive these are that highly spoke of that someone did this to it.
