Hi @OCBob, just wanted to say I have read ALL 1000+ comments in this thread (I'm a lil crazy) and I have really enjoyed your contributions and insight. You've mentioned a few times you've been collecting Porta Pro special editions over the years, I was just wondering if you had some sort of list of the different ones you own? Google has been pretty unhelpful when trying to see what special editions have ever been released, all I've been able to confirm is the beige and black/gold ones that are currently being sold, this Massdrop version, a 25th Anniversary version, and apparently a bright lime green version that seemed to be exclusive to Europe? I've become really fascinated with the Porta Pros and the history of Koss in general, any additional insight on this topic from you (or anyone who happens to also read this) would be really appreciated. Thanks!

BoardumbThanks for your kind words. The beige and the black/gold with the analog volume control were the most recent editions of the SE models. I also have an all red and all white pair that were released years ago. Amazon has an exclusive all black pair and last year Koss was selling a variety of white models with colored rings and center caps in different colors that I believe were from the Asian markets. I have a real pair of the 25th Anniversary model (lots of fakes on eBay). I have the MD model (I've purchased a lot of those to give away) and the Koss version that comes in the classic color scheme. I have the apple KTC model. I have a classic model that's been warrantied quite a few times. When first released Porta Pros came with a button at the cord split that would mute the volume if I remember correctly. I'd love a pair of those, but I could never find one. My first pair I bought in the eighties didn't have that feature. I also picked up the new bluetooth version. There are a lot of versions on eBay, but I don't trust that they're not genuine. I think I saw that green version online but I don't have it. I have a lot of pairs, but I couldn't count how many I've given away over the years to family/friends or customers/engineers who I've dealt with at my job. On top of all that I own lots of other Koss headphones as well.

OCBobVery interesting, thanks a bunch for the reply! I only noticed the lime green because it was featured in an official Koss video on their Youtube channel, prior to that I'd never seen or heard of it. I've seen the reds too but always thought they were knock offs! The whites with colored accent options sound cool too, but that's probably too flashy for me lol. I also think it would be cool to find a pair of the Porta Pro Juniors, though like many of the other models I'd be worried about not getting an authentic one buying from somewhere like eBay. I think I got hooked on the whole history aspect of these headphones when I first saw the Koss Sound Partner, and how its pretty groundbreaking design led to the Porta Pro which has now been unchanged for decades. It's fascinating. I imagine an original Sound Partner is probably one of the Holy Grails of headphone collectors. Anyway, thanks again!
