I join others in wishing I had read these before ordering. This blade has gotten nothing but glowing reviews from most of the people that I have found trustworthy on reviewing gear but the shipping logistics are untenable. It has only been 3 days since I ordered mine but it is already reading exactly like situations detailed below that took weeks to arrive. First two days there was no tracking information from a relatively unknown shipping company based in the Netherlands (Post NL I believe). Now on day 3 it finally says that it is in their warehouse where (given everyone else's experience here) I can expect it to stay for several more days without moving.
Drop has cornered the market when it comes to quality designs produced by fantastic makers and designers (ferrum forge, WE knives, Laconico, etc). For whatever reason, they have made the decision that maintaining the lowest possible overhead on offering these products is more imperative than satisfying the customers upon purchase. I was more than pleased with the purchase and shipping of my Drop Gent in G10 but something clearly has changed since then. I hope that this is not something that continues because there are several other products that I would love to pick up here but simply cannot justify the uncertainty of charging several hundred dollars on a credit card statement that will in all likelihood be past due by the time the actual product arrives.
Update: Its now been over a week and the last update according to the tracking number provided is that it was pre-advised by the warehouse. Given the way others shipping situations have gone i take this to mean that it still has yet to even leave the shipping warehouse. I don't know why it would take longer than a week after order to even get the item boxed up and shipped, it seems as though this could very well match some of the nightmares that others have encountered with their orders.
