Hey everyone, Wanted to share another update on the status of MT3 Susuwatari. We are currently still working with @matt3o on the final colors for the set. The same issue we’ve noted in our previous update is still something we are working on solving. Currently, we are looking for one more round of color matching on the off-white legends and dark modifiers. In addition, we are fine-tuning the different color modifiers in order to ensure legibility with the various legends. Our goal is still to these fulfilled before the end of the year. We will share some photos of the next round of color samples when they are available as well. We want to apologize for the delays and can’t wait to bring this one over the finish line.
YanboWuI'm still a firm supporter of this set, even with all the delays. I can't wait to see some other colorways in this profile!

YanboWuI check this thread almost everyday for an update, thanks for giving us one. As much as it pains me to wait for this set, I appreciate you taking the extra time to make sure its perfect.

YanboWuAs I often have criticized the lack of communication on this project I have to thank you for this another update. I'm really happy that you guys are pursuing a great result and I don't mind at all waiting for this. I'm very excited to see the results!

YanboWuIf your goal is to have these fulfilled in a little over a month, what are the consequences if they are not? We've been waiting well over a year for this and have gotten pretty sparse communication. If it weren't for the fact that this is a reputable website, people would be crying "Scam" in most forums well before this point. I'm still in, mainly due to sunk cost, but you'll have to excuse me for not being excited to hear about more delays.

YanboWuNoticed there aren't any options for a large number of 1u blanks (for an entire keyboard). It would be nice if there was the option to buy a large pack of blanks to use for a regular keyboard where all keys are blanks.

YanboWu3 weeks to the end of the year, any updates regarding the set and likely-hood of this shipping in 2019? Would it be too much to ask for weekly or bi-weekly updates for this set considering how delayed it has been? I think that is the least you can do for your customers.

YanboWuRadio silence as we’re approaching yet another goal that is going to be missed. No updates? Nothing? It’s been 20 days since I asked you what would be the consequences if you didn’t live up to the goals you set for yourself, and we’ve yet to get an answer. I’m beginning to see that there are no consequences for you not living up to your goals. Over-promise and under-deliver...why not? Consider this the last drop I’m participating in...this whole drop has been mismanaged since the very beginning. Look back through the comment history for this entire YEAR and you’ll find people asking for updates due to too much silence. I don’t care if the update is “we have no update”, it’s still better than plain old silence. At this point I’m halfway expecting flawed caps and zero post-drop customer support.

bugbbqThey said they expect to ship them by the end of the year. Give them until then. If they still don't deliver or update us by then, THEN we can talk about incompetence (and fwiw, I'm not happy either. In fact, I agree that this year the company went far downhill).

bullmoos211From Matt3o's blog comments, he responded "I don’t see that happening" to someone asking if end of December was possible. I also spoke to the Massdrop people at a meetup and they are very determined to make this set good. I'll stick with it but its probably gonna be another while.

bullmoos211You're putting a lot of hope for a drop that has been perpetually delayed. This drop would have to be shipped to the distribution center, inspected for QA, and then individually packaged and shipped out in less than 3 weeks for us to get this by the end of the year. If that were the case, then I'd image we would have heard something by now. Which means they have no info and don't care to share that fact. The question is, when are they going to tell us that there is yet another delay? What's the hold up this time? Are they going to tell people that have been waiting for this for over 15 months that there's no end in sight and to keep faith? As far as I'm concerned, @YanboWu should be ashamed for keeping us in the dark for so long. I've lost all trust in Massdrop/Drop and will go out of my way to tell people to avoid this site like the plague. It's not the delay...that happens...it's the not keeping people who have invested their money in this project in the loop properly. Set up a regularly scheduled update (every 2 weeks or whatever). If there are no updates, then that's your update...at least tell us! How many updates have we gotten in the past year? 3? Maybe 4? IN A YEAR! Scroll through these comments and you'll see a lot of "radio silence" and "when are we going to get an update?" questions throughout all this year. Completely unacceptable.

bugbbqHaving spoken with YanboWu, his hands are tied from releasing any information that isn't cleared by drop management. He's mentioned on other social places (not public) that his name gets dragged through the mud on here because there isn't anything he can do to say otherwise. I know he wants to do an update at least once every two weeks... even if it's information like batch lot numbers, but no. Need to be mad at anyone, be mad at drop management.

bugbbqOmg chill... I hate posts like this. Drop's always had a communication problem, but I've received 100% of the items I purchased. I'm happy there's an outlet for unique sets like this, and I don't think bashing the people producing them encourages them to take a chance again down the line.

LatrFlexWhat is the point of the "it could be worse" argument? Lots of things could be worse, doesn't mean people shouldn't complain or expect to be treated like valued customers after having spent hundreds of dollars.

bugbbqWhile Drop isn't my favorite way to buy keycaps or keyboards, their customer service is actually pretty damn good (shrugs) I've had a keyboard go missing in transit somehow (after waiting half a year if not more), and customer service was very responsive I've also had an odd mixup where I needed a refund While I've encountered an issue on literally 50% of the drops I have been a part of (which will actually make me think twice about getting anything on Drop moving forward), at least their customer service was good

forter4While I second your experience on delivery customer service, the rest of the customer service regarding the actual products themselves is almost always unacceptable. Most of the time I get no responses at all, and when I do, it's not an answer that most other customers get. For example, on the canvas keycap drop, I received two "page up" keycaps instead of one being "page down", I was only offered to either send the entire set back at a full refund, or just accept a small payment for the mistake, when others actually received any missing keys they had. I even asked why they were given such good treatment while I was basically told to shut up and take a bribe, and they never responded to that either. I was also ignored for the faults in the firmware of the rocketeer keyboard, which we bought during the first drop at an astronomical price. Fortunately, many other manufacturers (talking about the keeb section now) are starting to sell on other sites, so this should help end Massdrop's monopoly on certain products so we don't have to rely on them exclusively anymore.

ShiftyXTIWhile I'm not any happier than you are, and this is by far the worst experience I've had with drop expectations, I feel like this experience was a bit more unusual. I may have had to wait a long time for other drops, and even delayed, but it was like a month, two tops, and they were usually delivered according to that change. I feel like this drop is uniquely problematic. Honestly what pisses me off the most is that when basically any other drop is delayed, we at least get compensated a sum for our trouble. This had the most delays of any drop I've ever participated in, and we're not going to get jack-shit for our trouble.

bullmoos211Ahh that's fair... I will say that there also seems to be a ton of logistical issues with Drop. If it wasn't for the MT3 keycaps, I probably would never shop here again

YanboWuEstimated ship date is June 28, 2019 PT. Pretty sad showing, folks. Still color matching on November 19th, over a year after initial offering.  Hoping to fulfilled by year end, but it's now mid-December with no update. Maasdropp's awful shipping takes 2 weeks best-case scenario. Say goodbye to another over-sold target. I like the key cap sets Massdrop offers, but when they take so long to actually exist that I've nearly forgotten I ordered them in the first place what is the point? I'll do my utmost to forewarn everyone from Massdrop and MT3 in the future. Massdrop for being completely useless in terms of realistic targets and updating their paying customers, MT3 for missing the mark so badly here.  Shame

bugbbqlmao poor baby doesn't have their toy. Over-communication is just as bad as under-communication. When something important happens, they will tell us. We're not shareholders in this affair. We all trusted just enough to give over money to someone with an idea, not a product. It takes time.

bandreadygobandThat's where you're wrong. This is Massdrop, not Kickstarter. Massdrop offers guarantees on products, or we get refunded. Meaning, this is absolutely about a product, regardless of the idea. If you're looking for a place just for the ideas, then go to Geekhack or even Kickstarter itself, this isn't the place for you.

bullmoos211The attitude is what's wrong @bandreadygoband : no one is acting like a baby. There's frustration, there's a bit of comedy and too much radio silence from Drop. Projects like this do take time and delays do happen. Drop should learn from each delay and buffer their deliverables better. They should also consider adding a calendar / timeline / list of milestones to each project right under Description. This would frame the conversation in a positive manner... my two cents!
