does this work from an iPhone 5s ?
if if you need an amp , what would be suitable?
I just received my PX via a Blue Box Drop. When used in my iPad Pro and Pixel 2 I have to max out volume to get to a good listening level. When amped with my Topping NX4 and Aune X1S the PX really shine.
So they'll probably be OK with an iPhone 5s but not great. If your looking for a portable Amp make sure you get something that supports iOS (assuming your using it with the 5s). At 50ohms the PX don't need a ton of power so any decent portable amp should get the job done. Another option is to get the P2 which is a lower impedance IEM and should be easier to drive via a 5s.
are you happy with the px even though it needs an amp ?
Yes. I really like the PX. I've been listening to them all weekend. I'm surprised how much I like them.
My iPad Pro drives them well enough for listening when working. Pixel 2 with dongle doesn't get enough volume.
They are comfortable and provide good passive noise isolation.
I have a portable amp I can use them with at the office or when I'm not moving around to much. I'm probably going to pickup the Bluetooth cable and see how that works for use with the Pixel 2.
