dream3Yes, but if you’ve been using beats for a while, you won’t like the change when first putting them on, since you’re gonna be losing a lot of loose bass very suddenly. If you do decide to get them, keep in mind that it might take months of listening to get used to it. All worth it in the end though, imo.

HolyBiscuitsHmm I dont know what that means in practice. I cant imagine how that would go.

dream3It's hard to explain in practice... but let me see.. What they're saying is that it depends on what you want out of a headphone. Do you like deep thick bass? These don't have that, but neither do the beats. Beats have a loose, muddy bass. They're "boomy", and the bass bleeds into the mids and highs. Beats aren't TERRIBLE, but they're not good in my opinion, ESPECIALLY for the price. Honestly, if you like the sound of your beats, and want an upgraded sound that is similar to that style of music reproduction, I would suggest something from V-Moda.
I have a LOT of headphones, and I do like a bass heavy sound here and there, and V-Moda does bass very very well, without sacrificing mids and treble.
If you're looking for wired ones, look no further than the V-Moda M100
If you're looking for Wireless too, then I would suggest getting the Crossfade Wireless 2.
Wireless will cost more, but they're pretty damn good for their price.
cheers.

NonzillaHow does the 99 compare to all these you just mentioned? Leaving design and build quality out, as those are already a good selling point for the 99 to me.

dream3I really can't comment on that, since I haven't listened to the 99's.
Do you need wireless? What type of music do you listen to? How loud do you want your music to get? Are you going to get an amp/DAC? Are you planning on going mobile with your set up?
There are a lot of questions that make it hard for someone to recommend headphones.
If you give me a few answers, and a budget I can give the best recommendation that I can, but then then, people's ears are different, and by that I mean people like different (sometimes very different) sounds and tunings.
I have a large collection of headphones because I love to experience different types of sounds, for different activities and listening experiences. I have one for movies, running, music, music on the go, gaming, and each one of those has different headphones that sound just different enough to have me keep them.
If you're trying to get only one pair, it's hard for me to say which to get because I need to know what you like and what you'll be using it for. Honestly for most things I prefer IEM's after using and even selling a lot of headphones.
I'll try and help but I definitely need more info him you. It'll be hard to tell you something against these headphones since I haven't heard them, but I can try.
Also, remember you won't be receiving these until sometime in 2019
