I already have a pair of headphones for work, Sony MDR-1RBT. I do not use headphones at home. Will these headphones make a difference worth $200 given that I will just plug them into my MacBook pro? I am totally sold on the build quality, sound signature and looks. If I was on the market for a new pair, this would be a no-brainer. But given that I have headphones that i don't have any problems with, I am having trouble justifying this purchase. Can anyone provide any additional thoughts?

notrixIn my opinion, unless you are unhappy with your Sony, this will just be a slight upgrade or possibly side-grade. Is that potentially worth $200 or not, only you can answer that question. The problem is you'll have to wait months and then a few hundred dollars to make that conclusion. If you have trouble justifying the purchase, then trust that gut feeling.

wmakThanks for your thoughts! So far what you said aligns with what I am thinking. But I am keeping an open mind in case there is something I am missing in my line of thoughts.

notrixThey are definitely worth the asking price and are extremely lightweight and comfortable.

MusicLoverI guess the question I am asking is whether the difference in sound between what I have and these is worth $200. Not doubting that the price for these headphones is reasonable.
