I've had the 99 classics in silver for a couple of years now, I have really enjoyed them; while they can be driven by a phone, they also benefit from a dac, in my case a Meridian Explorer, and decent music files. At $100 less than what they cost when I got them, this seems like a steal. The most accurate description I could find was made by innerfidelity's Tyll Hertsens: headphones that just make music plain fun to hear. Of course music has to move you in the first place.
