chupacabra314I'm suspicious because there was mention the stock they recieved was pre-sold with another however many on order. I wonder of if these aren't actually 'pre-selling' of currently in production units.
Which would be really disappointing.
ithilienrangerLol the ad header on their home page literally says "Ready to ship in 1 business day". What a bummer. This is my first Massdrop purchase and I'm not impressed so far...Let's hope at least the quality is decent...
chupacabra314Oh I'm there with you, I didn't read the post about the stock, until it was too late. Hopefully they aren't being less than genuine about where the stock actually is.
SaskAudioGuyIf they don't have the stock already, it would be on a boat from China. I doubt they would sell something as ready to ship in 1 day if it was weeks or days away. I think they are just overloaded right now. I am guessing they had ordered like 1 to 2 thousand of them for the initial run. It seems like they always order extras for the special Massdrop editions.
JmunandarOrdered yesterday with 2 day shipping...I got them today. Nice case! My initial impression is that they are very comfortable headphone and sound designed of long listening sessions. Tested it them out on my Chord MoJo. I can't wait to spend sometime with my other DACs and CDs over the weekend.
JmunandarI ordered Monday (4/8) as well, but I did notice at the bottom of the drop page that the ship date was listed as today (4/10). I haven’t received a shipment notification yet, but I’ve had previous massdrop experiences where it shipped in the evening EST
EDIT: I received a shipping notification late last night so Massdrop did meet the shipping date listed in my case.
DalailalamaI ordered 4/8 and my shipping date is listed as 4/9. Still not shipped. I got a reply from cust service mine have been "allocated for shipping" whatever that means.
JmunandarSo it turns out massdrop is playing more games. My shipment notice was just A label and they still haven’t actually shipped. So basically 3 business days and still haven’t actually shipped. What the hell massdrop.
clerkpSame here. Got the shipping notification last night and fedex still shows label created and nothing else. Now they will supposedly travel the 200 miles from NJ to Boston in 5 days. Love that expedited shipping.
chupacabra3145 days from nj to Pittsburgh. Same boat. Ridiculous. Get your logistics straight. Massdrop firing off labels but not actually shipping. I’ll be calling for my 5 bucks back.
JmunandarMy expedited order from the 8th shipped on the 9th and arrived on the 10th. Hopefully MD gets their act together for all y'all. I'd be right pissed if they didn't ship in the 1 day listed on the page.
It might not be much comfort being said (especially as mine shipped correctly), but the cans are totally worth the wait. Comfortable, good sounding, and very easy to drive.
FayneGlad to hear they sound good. Are you using the stock pads, or the extra pads they come with? Also, can you compare the sound to the 6xx and 7xx if you have them.
JmunandarI'm using the stock pads (the ones on the cans when they arrived).
They're bassier than the MD+Senn 6xx and 58x, less sibilant than the E-MU Teak while still keeping the mid range, and much easier to drive than the 6xx, 58x, He4xx, T50Mk3, and T60RP.
The outside sound leakage with them is minimal. It isn't noise cancelling level of isolation, but it is pretty good. If you have gauge earrings like I do, it can be slightly uncomfortable, but nothing more than most cans with smaller cups.
I'm waiting on a "cheap" interim balanced cable ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JJLRQXV// ) to arrive tomorrow while I source the slim 3.5mm TS connectors needed for diy cable, so I'm not really seeing how these handle. As is, they sound perfectly fine on my MD THX AAA 789, MD LCX, Topping DX7s, Behringer XR18, Behringer UMC202HD, Teac UD501, and iPhone/iPad.
The only major complaint I've got with em is the microphonics. Any contact with the metal band sends a lot of metallic noise into the earcups. Like if you put a large stainless steel pot over your head (or colander for those Pastafarians) and start messing with the outside.
