GuyintheWhiteTShirtThey wont refund my money until I ship them back. They should refund me first! maybe then I will ship them back, my credit card refunded me already and the attorney generals office says I don't have to send back what I didn't order.

RaggsIf you don't want them, why don't you just ship them back? I understand that you want to be paid back first but it seems weird that you say you don't want them but then say that you don't want to send them back. Seems like you're trying to keep em for free at this point. And you did "order" them and give authorization, before you tried to cancel. That's completely different than a company just charging you and shipping out of nowhere. AGs office probably doesn't have the full story because you're explaining it in the wrong way. It's always possible that it shipped and they just didn't update the info until after you hit cancel. Just send the headphones back and keep a record of it.

themunaLet me clarify- I did not order them. The order was created and my credit card charged without my knowledge or authorization. After I received the email confirming a order was created and BEFORE they were shipped I contacted massdrop with the problem and requested cancellation. They shipped them anyway. I want my money back and an apology for THEIR error and I will then return the headphones. If not I will consider them abandoned and I will have my money refunded via a credit card dispute. It's massdrops decision to make. Too bad its not something I like. My advice is to not leave your credit card number in their system for them to possibly make mistakes like this or to consider not doing business at all with them.

RaggsDude. Your making too much of this. Mistakes were made. Probably on their side, but what would you have them do? Just refund money to everyone that "says" they didn't make the order and run the very high risk of then not getting the headphones sent back? Just send them the headphones and get the refund. And also ask them to investigate how it happened. Use your head and think about it. Your asking a company to refund money based on an individuals word they didn't make the purchase and the individuals promise to send them back. I don't know if you've paid attention, but there are numerous "individuals" who would lie and try to get a set of headphones for free using that story. Just send them back and end the drama you are prolonging. Mistakes get made. Reasonable parties communicate and fix the problems. You are being the unreasonable party here. Not them. This isn't as big a deal as you are making it out to be.

Brian8383Hello Brian, I appreciate your advice and suggestions. Again let me dumb it down for you. Massdrop took my stored credit card info, created an order that I was unaware of and sent me an email confirming the order. I requested cancellation BEFORE it was shipped and they shipped it anyway and charged me for it. I want my money back and an apology. When that happens I will return the unwanted product. I won't let them have my money AND the product at the same time as I don't trust them. I am not a pushover and I am right. How would you feel if massdrop made up an order and charged your credit card for it and sent you something you never wanted or asked for? You sound as if you work for massdrop Brian, just saying....... 'Raggs"

RaggsI understood your story the first time. And giving you the benefit of the doubt that you aren't lying or mistaken about the facts...... my advice still stands. You do understand that people try to scam businesses all the time using the same story as yours, right? And again, I'm not doubting it happened to you. But the scam is attempted all the time. You have emails stating it will be refunded once returned. So return it and get the refund. They arent a dishonest company. They made a mistake. There is a difference. Are you worried you won't get your money back? You have emails ensuring you will. So what's the problem? Yeah, you can be pissed they screwed up. But why prolong the drama? Use your head and think logically. They are in a tough place. Do they just trust you aren't lying? And every other customer that tells them the same thing happened to them? There aren't millions of dishonest people who try to rip off companies all the time? Isn't it incredibly likely someone is going to try to rip them off if they send money back to everyone that says they didn't order the item.? But in your mind they should just refund everyone that calls with a story like yours. Or......... the only logical solution: request the customer send back the item and you will be refunded as soon as its received. And you have documentation they will do just that. No one else would do it the way you are requesting. Any business that did what your asking will be ripped off. And ripped off often Just send it back and stop with the drama.

Brian8383Brian, I suspect that you may be a representative of Massdrop from the way you are approaching this. Although I think companies that create orders and charge you for merchandise without authorization should be punished, I did sent them an email asking if they were interested in getting the headphones as back. It went unanswered. It would seem that they have abandoned their product. The issue is now closed.
RaggsHey there. Do you happen to browse the site and make purchases while on a VPN of some sort? I was looking into your issue with the help of the engineering team and it shows you visiting the site from several states in a short amount of time, as well as making purchases from a couple different locations. If you are not using a VPN, then I would strongly encourage you to visit https://drop.com/settings/user_info to update your password and click the "Log me out of other browsers" option.

AlexPkHi Alex, Thank you for looking into what's been a frustrating experience. I don't use VPN and never have. At the time the order was created I was in the hospital recovering from a hip replacement. I didn't order anything from massdrop and responded to the order confirmation by asking massdrop to cancel the order. Two days it was shipped anyway. "Raggs"
RaggsHmmm interesting. Without getting into any personal details, it looks like the order was created in the correct state, but on a network that I would describe as suspect. Visit traffic has been in a few different states, but I'm not sure if maybe mobile IP tracking is a little inaccurate and might look like it's in a different location. In any case, I would change the password to be safe and make sure to logout of other browsers and let me know if you see any other suspicious activity. I hope you're recovering well and can hit the trail again soon. Cheers

RaggsYou'd suspect wrong. I have nothing to do with Massdrop other than being a customer. Looks like your account got hacked. Looks like the "order" wasn't Massdrop fault. Yeah, too bad they didn't get the order cancelled in time. That was unfortunate. Massdrop should work on that. But again, them asking for the item back first is a normal request. Anything other than that would be stupid. I stand my my first comment to you. You should have not drawn out the drama and sent it back. It is a reasonable request. Not doing that opens them up to getting ripped off. It's a guaranteed way to get ripped off. Hope your hip surgery worked out. My uncle got one last year. Amazing how fast the recovery was.

Brian8383Hey Brian, I'll take you on your word that You're not a massdrop guy. On the 8th of this month I tried to engage massdrop to return the headphones. I got no response. I requested cancellation two days before it shipped. I have a copy of "Jenny's" direction not to return the product to inventory. Masdrop made the decision to ship it anyway. The information was provided by my credit card team. The hip surgery went well. It seems hikers heal really fast, lol.
