Create Your Own Work of Art

Your keyboard is your canvas. And it’s time to begin your next project. Back by popular demand, the Massdrop x MiTo XDA Canvas custom keycap set can transform any keyboard into a work of art. Designed by MiTo (the brains behind Laser, Godspeed, and Pulse), the set is sculpted in XDA profile, which is similar to DSA with uniform height for maximum layout compatibility. For this run, the “Betas” legends have been adjusted to look closer to those found in Godspeed so they fit better with the full set. The dye-sublimated construction won’t fade in the future, either—no matter if you get the standard Canvas colorway or a dark shade of purple in the Monokits.

Note: To avoid confusion with the current checkout system, we will be changing the drop points manually. We are paying attention to the number of child kits bought as well. If they reach certain quantities, we will adjust their prices accordingly. You may notice fluctuations in your checkout price as we make these adjustments on the back end, but you will not be charged more for anything. Inspired by a Design Icon

Inspired by Dieter Rams—a key figure in the German design renaissance of the late ‘50s and ‘60s—and his 10 Principles of Good Design, these keycaps feature a minimal yet powerful aesthetic, blending neutral grays and subtle tones to highlight the keyboard without overpowering it. Known for his iconic work with Braun, Rams has inspired many modern cornerstones of functionalist design including the iMac, iPod, and the Apple calculator. His work has helped shape the relationship between modern society and modern machines.

This kit, essential to every Cherry MX mechanical keyboard, is available in three different options: Alphas, Betas, and Rams. The Alphas are based on Braun aesthetics and Dieter Rams’ design work. The Betas feature center-positioned legends, which are more subtle and delicate than the previous legends. The community favorite runic Rams are available as well.

There are two options for the modifiers: the Text Mods and their pictographic counterpart Micons Mods. Both kits come with enough keycaps to completely dress standard 60% and tenkeyless keyboards. There are three extra keycaps included to maximize the versatility of the kits, including a 1.5u BACKSPACE, a 1.75u SHIFT, and a 1u FN duo. This allows you to cover hobbyist keyboards like the HHKB layout.

Standalone numpads are available in three different variations: the Alphapad, Betapad, and the Viopad. The Alphapad is designed to be used with Alphas and Text Mods, whilst the Betapad looks best when combined with the Betas and Micons Mods. We recommend pairing the Viopad with the Wolfgang monokit below.

These two sibling monokits highlight a brand-new purple color. Featuring the classic noire legends sublimated over violet keycaps, these kits come in two styles. Wolfgang has the Alphas combined with enough Text Mods to completely fill a variety of keyboards (including custom builds with the extra bottom row, 1.5u BACKSPACE, multiple SHIFTs, and a stepped CAPS LOCK key with an off-center stem). Manfred features the same colorway, but with the runic Rams combined with the Micons Mods for those who prefer a more chaotic and mysterious appearance.

Hobbyist & Exotic

These are Text and Micons budget extension kits for enthusiast keyboards such as Vortexgear Race, Filco MiniLa, and a multitude of HHKB/Winkeyless custom layouts. The kits aren’t standalone modifiers, which means that they require either the Text Mods or the Icon Mods on top of the Alphas/Betas/Rams to properly cover a given keyboard. The Exotic kit is only available with the text variation.

40s & Ortho

These are standalone modifier kits for ortholinear and 40% keyboards such as OLKB Planck and Preonic, Vortexgear Core, Koob’s Pearl, JDCarpe keyboards and several others. They’re available in both options, Text and Micons.

Split & Ergo

Available in two different styles, these are standalone modifier kits for split keyboards such as Infinity ErgoDox, Kinesis, and others.

Layouts & Systems

The Alphas variation is available for a multitude of Nordic countries, plus Germany and the United Kingdom. There’s also Mac/Windows compatibility kits and deep-dish homing keycaps. The deep dish keycaps are very subtle but noticeable, just like the ones featured in the previous round.

The classic Bauhaus modifiers are back. Designed with both Text and Micons, they’re standalone modifiers for 60% keyboards and come with colorful add-ons for other form factors. There’s a small Dieter kit, designed as a tribute to Dieter Rams, containing the silhouette design of his iconic glasses. For those who prefer a minimalistic look, there are the Mono Alphas and Mono Betas containing numerals and punctuation symbols to complement their corresponding larger kits.

Spacebars & Extras

These are extra spacebar kits, depending on the specific layout you need to cover. All keycaps are convex. An alternate F-Row kit is available, and there’s also an extra Arrows kit or those who need a Sym kit with the sole purpose of providing symmetric columns of modifiers.
