made the leap! i don't intend to Replace the keys that came with the race3, as a granite clone is still a granite clone (though i would like to see if anyone has put real granite on the race3, i noticed the "text extreme modifiers" kit on dsa granite includes 1.5u esc and del, i don't seem to remember those being there before but maybe i'm wrong) – rather, i'm increasing the breadth of my collection, to swap them over when i want a different feel :D at least, that's how i'm thinking about it. imo, a lot of people fall into the trap of "but is it the PERFECT keyset?" when trying to decide on what to buy, but you can keep a few that're 90-95% perfect for you and swap between them~ dyesub and doubleshot can live together in harmony, in the spares box~ (don't get me wrong, if i had the space i probably would buy a new keyboard for each keyset to live on permanently, on display. in a special room with all the retro computers i'd also fill the space with :p but even though i can't, i can still keep the baggies of keysets and switch it out every few months or whatever!)

though i must say, i would've had a far harder choice about which colourway to pick if the rush alphas had pink lettering rather than cyan, to mirror the two-tone-inverted look of solace! i love the look of the pink-on-purple pulse logo in the novelties kit.
by the way, i made a race3 in photoshop (with slightly shoddy alignment, but i had to resize some of the kits compared to each other and didn't want to break out a million "rulers" in the software :p) in case someone else wants to visualise that more concretely.

also, has there been any resolution to mito saying the f-row kit seems a bit pricey? (i mean i'm inclined to agree, it uses half the moulds from the tkl kit, but costs twice as much) but either way, i decided if i'm already spending over $100 on something for the aesthetics that i shouldn't half-ass the look if alternating f-row colours is so much more the look i want. just..... if i end up spending $10 or $15 less than i'm expecting to now, i'd be even happier! haha
the new run of the galaxy class set (the first officially licensed one) next month is calling me too.... but then, i've had basically a year pass me by without sets grabbing me like this and galaxy have, it's not my fault if two that really call to me come along in two months, right? right? >.> i mean if these are the only two i buy in the next like... year or even more... then my average keyset per month is like... 16% of a set?
(plus a bunch of my clothes are this black&teal colourscheme, my steelseries sensei's lights are cyan, so's my terminal emulator... it's a perfect fit for my stuff!

and, well, my gf said "you having a star trek keyboard is like, the most natural thing in the world. if you *didn't* go for that keyset when it came your way, i'd be trying to convince you to!"...... yes, i guess i am convincing myself it's ok to spend my own money on a public forum >.>)
