MiTowhy no ergo option? I really really wanna buy in, but I'd need to spend like 300$ to fill out only 50 keys on my 40% ergo board. (I need 2x 1.5u keys for R2, R3, and R4. And I need 4x 2u keys in either R2,R3, and R4) Maybe I should just get the Gaijin alphas, and get/make all my mods custom? Damn, so disappointing.

SwiftlesslyDesk mats are an entire different product, from a different manufacturer, and will ship at a different date. Not possible to combine orders/shipments, unfortunately.

MiToMiTo, I just wanna say thank you. I didn't get keyboards until I saw LASERS. When I saw MiTo, everything just clicked. I've been waiting for so long to build a keyboard, and now my first build gets to be a laser board!? How Lucky am I!? They're so cool, I basically bought everything haha. Gonna be building more than one I guess You're great, you've really made my day!...and the day they get here...and all the other days I'll get to use them...and all the days my kids will get to use them too. These are so cool, Thanks!

MiToTreated myself to with the Cyberdeck, Novelties and Bars kits. Also waiting to receive the SA R3 Mitospeed next month and Mitospeed deskpad next week. I debate for like three days whether I should keep investing money into this addiction hobby knowing that I'll just end up buying giving in lol love your design choices, @MiTo. Your products are what got me into this hobby a few years ago!

Keeb.ineerI so understand what you mean. I could easily spend 500$ on this because I want everything. One minute I rationalize and tell myself I can only have a max number of keycaps on my keyboard at once so buying more is useless... then the next minute I'm telling myself I could mix them and swap them when I want some change and having them all would be so nice... Addiction you say? :)

It's not done being designed and it's someone elses design on top of that. MiTo borrowed renders to show off his keycaps. The evolv75 will most likely be sold raffle style (wont be sold on drop that's for sure), so go ahead and pass on GMK Laser because you can't buy an unrelated and still hypothetical keyboard design.

RejecktedYeah...I'm probably gonna have to. There's a lot of money involved with a build like that, and I was mostly interested in the whole thing they were showing off together. Looks great! Especially the setup in particular we are discussing. But I can't really justify throwing that much towards a build if its not exactly what I was hoping for, ya know? I know it's not the same thing, but I got a Mecha Mini on the way until I figure out what I want to do. There's also things like the keytester and Carina kit to mess around with, as well as countless other options. I'm not too crazy about the buy now or never part of some of these group buy things. I'm relatively new to this stuff and those are some pretty big hurdles for people just getting into it. I mean collecting/building is fun, but scarcity kinda sucks when you're broke. Anyway, thanks again!

First off, it’s “logic”, not “logical”. Second...it kinda seems like those are apples and oranges, dude. Both fruits, yes, but both are clearly different, and can be enjoyed in completely different ways. Plus... you’re kinda stretching for arguments sake. I came to chat about the keyboard deck to see if I could buy it anywhere...not win a privilege to buy it... but it feels more like I’m having to defend myself and my reasoning to people I don’t even know. Since we’re here, I’ll go ahead and unpack things for you. I just wanted the keyboard with the keycaps that they showed me in the email. The one that got me saying “oh wow that’s cool... I really like the way that looks with those exact colors and style. Not just the board, not just the keycaps, but the whole thing together just how I like it. I might tweak it just a little. I wonder how much it is.” It really is that simple. I saw a picture that was really interesting, so I came here to ask. Turns out it’s a limited run thing that I might not be ALLOWED to buy...AAAND it’ll be pretty expensive and time consuming to get together. It neither profits me nor those around me. So...I’m gonna pass. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that decision. If you have the money, patience, and know-how to go bid on stuff like that, then by all means, ladies and gents, feel free to enjoy those liberties...but stop giving me crap about it when I choose not to. Oh, and...nice keycaps ;)

MerranzaGood thing about this hobby is that as long as you take good care of your boards and caps, you can sell them and either lose a little or make some money. It allows for trying out different options. I joined a bunch of GBs for different keycap profiles, like GMK, MT3, KAT and SA R3. If I don't like the feel, I know I can resell them on r/mm and at least break even.

What does scarcity have to do with being broke? If there's only a limited amount of a certain keyboard you want, but you're broke....you didn't have a chance to get it anyways.You could have an extra $150 without the mecha mini (I literally was in the same boat as you when the first frozen Llama came out, so I put it up on ebay to try and get the $115 back and in 5 days the bidding ended at $830. I shit you not, someone must have really wanted to make their child happy for Xmas) to put towards a day you'll be chillin and get a notification on your phone for a new shipment or pre-order for the one you want OR....There's probably at least 8 custom keebs you can get that are just as good of a match if not better to put these keycaps on. There's Dixie Mech.RAMA keebs, there's the new Think 6.5v2, Melgeek Z70,NK_65, KBDFANS DZ60-DZ65 kits/pre-built, shit there's new keeb drops everyday on drop. Doesn't sound like this hobby is for you my friend if you are going to accept defeat that easily. I'm still waiting on a keyboard I ordered last November, and last night I finally got to order the last part I needed for a separate build I've been working on for almost 2 years since I had to order parts from 5 different sites. long story short, good things come to those who wait.

PhlookeThanks for the feedback and for not completely tearing me to pieces. To be entirely honest...I was grumbling. Currently I have to prioritize a little more than some. So while I would like to get into the hobby, I have to take a step back when I consider the cost. When I see a piece of plastic and metal that clearly has a demand my first thoughts are that should not be too difficult to make readily available. However when that same item is made in limited runs and the price increases, it’s not necessarily because it was costly or hard to come by. Often it’s because they intentionally limit the opportunity to buy it. Or in this case they may be early prototypes so they don’t want to many out there? I don’t know. Some people enjoy being able to obtain something limited Me? I’m not in a position to do that and would just build something cool without the trouble the first time around. Being the novice that I am, I may have made a mistake by opening my mouth on an enthusiast forum. Btw, congrats on selling the lama for that much. Pretty sure that’s not the norm though. I’m fine with the mecha mini for now; it should be easy enough to sell once I’m ready to build again. Since you seem to know a good deal about this, can you recommend a good place to go from there as far as learning to build and choosing parts?

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?
I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
