I was going to wait for SA Godspeed because I was sure that the next Godspeed would be GMK, but this is absolutely perfect. 😍
Just bummed Japanese support didn't make it.
GMK Godspeed will be the day I give up this hobby. GMK sets are way to saturated at the moment, everyone and their dog has made one.
I don't even like GMK keycaps. I know they're basically high-quality, but I really just dislike the sound on brass plate keyboards with clicky switches. It makes them sound a lot higher pitched than I would really like. ePBT has been absolutely perfect for me, and I am loving ePBT 9009. No-name PBT SA sets work pretty great too.
I've just never really been able to get into ABS sets. I'm a clicky switch lover at heart, and I don't find the material to be a good match with clicky switches.
GMK is considered high quality? I thought they were just a kinda standard format and nothing special, since they're so ubiquitous. I not too fond of them myself, since I prefer the look and feel of spherical tops.
What makes GMK better than other profiles?
For ABS they're pretty great. I don't think there are any other companies making cherry profile ABS caps as well as they are is what I am saying. You just have to actually like ABS keycaps to appreciate their quality. I personally do not like Cherry profile ABS keycaps, even the thick doubleshot ones that GMK produces.
I find them to sound bad on clicky switches, especially with a steel or brass plate. Too high-pitched.
