Hi, so I'm a newbie at this and need some help. I take it all I'm buying are some very cool keys to replace the ones on my keyboard. So, what keyboard should I buy. Cherrys look good--like the click like the old IBM keyboards--but could someone please just let me know a model or two that would work? Seems like an ivory color would look better with these keys. I also have a friend who works at the Air and Space museum, and she would love this! Also what packs to open to cover the keyboard similarly to the keyboard pictured above. Thanks in advance.

Hey hello there and welcome to our hobby! It's hard to recommend a keyboard since I don't know what form factor you want (do you want a mini-keyboard like the one on the picture or something with arrows, maybe the numpad? Let me know). In order to achieve the look you mentioned, you'd need Alphas + Apollo Mods + Novelties, nothing else. Let me know what form factor (keyboard size) you enjoy so I can give you a proper tip.

I would like one with what I'd call a standard layout - Esc and F1-F12 across the top, normal letter/number typing keys below these, an upside-down T configuration for arrow keys to the right of the typing keys, the standard Insert/Home/Page Up/Delete/End/Page Down keys above the arrows, a numeric keypad to the right, and Print Screen/Scroll Lock/Break above the keypad. Thanks for your help--much appreciated!

Nothing will ever really get you that sane feel as buckling springs on an IBM, but cherry blue or green will give you that click. There's a lot of options for full size boards with standard layouts. A ducky one 2 or filco majestouch are good choices (the ducky being around 100$ us and the filco closer to 150$.) The leopold FC980m is also a fantastic keyboard that also happens to come in the beige colour you're looking for and runs around 120$ us. If you want to go for something more mainstream the coolermaster masterkeys L is also a great board to look at and runs for around 100$ us!

Ducky One 2 with your preferred switches plus Alphas/Kobe/Kadet/Rams + Apollo Mods/Apollo Micons/Ares Mods/Ares Micons + Apollo Numpad/Ares Numpad and you can add whatever novelties you want.
