Had a question about the Minutemen set specifically. In both the renders (the RGB photo, and the glow photo) the keyboard has a "system" and a "pulse" key in size 125 on the bottom row. But in the photo of the "keys that come with the kit" it does not show these. These keys seem to come in the standard kits. So I was wondering if those two keys came in the kit or not?
The kits are the correct guides, they show the keycaps you'll receive. The pictures/renders are prototypes.
Thanks for the super quick reply!
I figured that would be the case. Beautiful set by the way. I have the Minutemen set on order. Making my UV keyboard as we speak.
That's a bummer they aren't included though; the set is one 125 key short of a full 60% without punctuation or repeated keys. Looks like I'll be forced to use a blank key on the bottom row so I can use one of the 150's for the backslash key. Darn.
What keyboard do you have?
I'll be building in a RK61 chassis -
A basic 60% layout, with no arrow keys, or end keys, etc.
I'll be replacing the LEDs with uv, and switches with some Cherys from a dead keyboard I have kicking around. That or the Pandas I have on order. The overall layout will stay the same though. For my plan to work you need to replace the backslash key with one of the 150 versions of the bottom row keys. So if the text version of the "menu/super/win" key (the system and pulse keys) were available it could be achieved. Without them you have to put a blank in for the function key.
Not too worried either way. Can't wait to tear into this build. In 6 months.
Second time posting a reply. I think the first one got removed due to the item link I posted.
I'm building in a Royal Kludge 61. The switches are getting replaced and the leds replaced with UV, but the layout of the keyboard will stay the same.
It's a 60% with a full bottom row and no arrows keys, or delete keys, etc. In order for my plan to work I want to replace the number row with the planet icons, replace all the symbols with text icons, and not have any duplicates. In order to do this you need to move one of the bottom row keys (orbit, stow, deploy) up to the backslash in the form of one of the 150 keys. If the "pulse" and "system" key were included you could simply move up one of the bottom row and replace it with one of them. But without them, I'll be sticking either one of the blank 125s or a artisan cap on the function key, that way I can move one of the bottom row 150s up to the backslash.
Not worried either way. Super excited to get into this build... In six months.
Sounds awesome, I don't completely understand what you're doing but make sure you have the enough/adequate caps. Good luck and godspeed!
Thanks! There will be more then enough keys. Here's a picture the layout idea, which should make more sense. If there was a "system" or "pulse" key it would replace the blank one -
Keep up the kick butt creations!
I think you should select another legend instead of ABORT for that key because it will be more symmetric!
Good point. I used ABORT because it was a full word rather then an abbreviation, but you're right, it does stand out in that spot. I imagine I'll be tweaking and changing this layout in my head for months.
