They are unwashed in the fabrication process, leaving the fabric in a raw state. It is 100% cotton, but over time, will stretch in the seat and at the knees.

There is a lot of argument online. Pick a method and follow instructions on YouTube. I’ve seen everything from wearing them into an ocean to soaking them in a tub for a day to just chucking them in the washing machine.

it takes a while to “break in” raw denim. If you don’t like how rigid the fabric is, you can soak them inside-out with detergent. This kicks out some indigo dye but will also soften the fabric.

I’ve had mine for a while and worn them 20-30 times. They still look brand new which isn’t what I expected. I ride a motorcycle and walk around a bunch. Can’t get any wear on these.
