Nyc55I would go by the measurements more than the size, measure a pair of jeans you own that are comfortable and go off that. If you *often* size up for the butt, you might want to go a size up, not down. As for the model, he typically wears a 32 but is wearing a 33 in the photos, which is only a 1" difference in waist size.

I'm a 32-33 in most jeans (non-raw vanity sizing 32 waist) but sometimes have to size up to get the seat right. Should I go with a 31 in these?
