Release IEM with "mystery" driver count.
Build hype and mislead people into thinking there's 4+ drivers.
Sell for $599.
People find out there's 2 drivers.
Sell for $249.
Yes the new shells are cheaper/faster to manufacture but that hardly accounts for $350.
MingI thought you just missed a bit of description:
BTW, you have more drivers not meaning you have better sound quality. Ex, if each driver quality is 50 -> your total is 100, in case of 4 drivers, on the same price, you may only got 20~23 -> in total you're not any near 100 :D

MingAs fas as I'm aware they never mentioned anything about driver count in their literature, only how "balanced" it was. From my limited interactions with Brannan my experience has been great with impeccable manners and timely responses.
custom33Agree to disagree.
Hiding the driver count, pricing them higher than the N4, actively and repeatedly encouraging the hype and 4 5 6 driver misinformation that had spread. If as they claim driver count doesn't matter why not be straightforward about it? The only logical reason was to make some fast cash on a product with relatively low manufacturing cost.
Yes these might not be the Savants exactly. However it's extremely similar component wise at a realistic price of $250 after misleading people into paying $600 for the Savants.
MingYou do have valid points(which I may not agree with) and maybe I'm not as put off as a result of never having purchased the Savant, however the reviews for the Savant indicated great sound not just price blind but in regards to the price. If these are similar to the savants I will be ecstatic as finding a well balanced/affordable/aesthetic(I like precise sounds) IEM is not an easy task.
On to your comments on price. You are correct in regards to the Savants being overpriced as a matter of physical components. Yes they never disclosed driver count but IMO that decision was up to them as many loved the tuning(arguably as important as hardware) and the signature the Savant had. Unfortunately the high end audio community is filled with high markups and sometimes a product delivers but doesn't make owners happy. Hopefully the noble x is the one that will make all who purchase it very happy with its performance and price.
Have a wonderful weekend/thanksgiving. Take care.
